    Hi Marvman

One question regarding the behaviour of the detection counter. I set it to 3, so that it needs 3 black bar detections to switch from "4:3 ViewMode" to "4:3 Letterbox ViewMode". But it only needs just one detection fail to swicht back from "4:3 Letterbox ViewMode" to "4:3 ViewMode". Wouldn't it be more consistent and user friendly if the detection counter would be valid for both directions?

    Best Regards

    Hi Hirscho,

guess I'm right that the last detection was wrong? If yes, you could set the black level of "Max" a lil bit higher (>37).
The median is every time 0, so i think its real black, only some pixel were brighter than your set Max value.

    Hi,

Im suddenly and pretty much out of nowhere experiencing wierd behaviour with the Intelligent Frame Correction plugin. When I listen to music - let it be MP3's or FLAC - and one song ends, so Media Portal will try to start the next song in the folder, Media Portal crashes completely and exists to the Windows desktop.. I have to re-open Media Portal. I know this is related to Intelligent Frame Correction and I can confirm that the problem isn't there when Intelligent Frame Correction is disabled.

Thanks for reporting, I'll have a look at this.

    Hi gnavox,

    I can't reproduce this.

Which version do you have installed?

Can you reproduce the issue and attach the hole log?

I liked the plugin alot also, added some more automatisation which is always nice :D However, I've turned it off since I noticed it was zooming in the picture. Half heads, text dropping out, etc. I've disabled it and it was gone.

You of course have to tweak it to fit your requirements. The second configuration screen was a bit hard to find IMHO. Once you've set it up to use the Smart Zoom for 4:3 material instead of stretch etc, it works great.

What does "16:9 within 4:3" mean? Is that Anamorphic 16:9? The plugin is really awesome btw.

Right, some channels broadcasting 4:3 material with 16:9 content, thats means black bars top and bottom.

I think you just set down the black level to 10 or lower and move the black area one rectangle to the bottom. That should solve your problem.

Thats right, I'm still try to find the best settings for beginner, but I can just test with German broadcastings. But I'll help everyone to find the best settings.

IFC analyzing your TV and video content and scans for black bars and aspect ratio. IFC decides then, whether black bars have to crop or to set another view mode (streched, zoom, non-linear...)

    Example:

You have a 16:9 TV. Broadcasting is 4:3 with black bars, then the aspect ratio is wrong for you cause you have a 16:9 TV.
IFC crops the bars, stretch to fill the hole screen and viola the aspect ratio is correct, without doing everything.

you don't have to set rules, vms confused me, and freaked out when I set some rules (crazy switching between the rules).
But I don't really used vms, worked not as expected for me.
The different should explain a user, that know both plug ins.

You can try it, some user like it :)
