I think the whole idea for a video on bootup is clucky.
We try to boot fast by caching fonts etc etc and then we r gonna slow it down by adding a movie.

I cannot see why people would want that.

I have to agree with MrMario64. MP is already quite slow to start (30+ seconds on my midrange pc) and this will make it slower - especially if people want to have windows boot to MP as the shell somehow.

I also agree, I do not want an intro ;)

or how about a simple animated gif that can be chosen and activated in the F2 screen.

i think to replace the startup image by a gif shouldn't make the startup any slower :)

I submitted a patch a while ago to load the splash image from a gif (the mplogo.gif file) and optionally make the splash screen full screen, it's never been included but then it's not exactly high priority.

What might be nice would be to have a section of the splash screen to show supported formats and standards (Dolby Digital, Monkeys Audio, MAME, etc) , fading each one in and out. Shouldn't take too much processing power to do that.

Hi, First off: there are some issues with the latest Mediaportal (32bits vs 64bits), so that is one of the issues you're stumbling with. If you take the previous version (1.31) it should work as expected. For IPTV there is also a different option (with different pros and cons): Onlinevideos. I'm using that sometimes for my IPTV as...

Good. I am pleased that that is now working for you. :) If you have ever looked at MP debug log files, you may have noticed that apparent errors are not rare, but these are "errors" that do not affect the functioning of the product. (It is not desirable to have these errors in the log file, as it misleads users, testers, and...
