If netstat can't see 55667 the the plugin isn't running on your client, can you run this command at a command prompt and post the results - there may be something in your logs..

looks like the plugin is loading correct:
And it looks like it recognizes a button. Every time I press a button on I get the following log entry:

2008-12-28 21:55:46.984375 [Info.][13]: Map: No button mapping loaded
2008-12-28 21:55:47.250000 [Info.][13]: plugin: iPiMPClient - key sent

How do I load a button mapping?

OK I got it!
My bad! The first time I installed in the wrong directory and there was still them keyiPiMP xml file!
Copied it to the right lokation and now everything works perfect!

I found it. The Music can be controlled over the remote. Maybe I can help and translate into german? Is it possible to personalize the Buttons on the Remote Control?

Thanks for the offer - all of the strings are hard coded at the moment so I'll have to do a lot of re-writing to enable multiple languages - I will put it on my todo list though and ask for help with translations when I do it.

You cannot change the remote control button functions yet - I will look to see if that is possible in a future version though. If you want to change the button images they are stored in %installdir%\aspx\images/remote.

No - the login form is needed as the web application is driven by roles which are determined at logon - you could try extending the timeout period from 30mins to a larger number as described in a previous post. https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...46556-post338923/?highlight=config#post338923

Are you also deselecting the web server?

The iPiMP web server is dependent on the TV Server.

BTW folks - I just upgraded to 1.0.0.0 final and am getting an error when trying to go into the transcode plugin setup screen. The iPiMP installer also failed on a couple of tasks with 1.0 - I think the default location for Gentle.Config has changed. (This also stopped my from running webepg-conf and importing my tv server channels) I worked round it by copying Gentle.Config from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server to C:\Program Files\iPiMP\aspx\bin

I'll do some more digging and see what needs to be done for iPiMP on 1.0.0.0 final.

I probably failed to get this, so let me see if I get this straight:
For iPimp to work there has to be a TV server, and many possible clients; the Tv Server has the webserver to which the iPhone/iPod connect and that interacts with the clients and/or TV Server. Is that about right?

My installation has no TV server because I don't do any TV Recording, I have two client only installs one of them on the main fileserver/webserver/etc. I ran the iPimp install on this instance selecting only the MP Client checkbox, install ran fine, I enabled it and checked the config to see the port but there is no response at all presumably because the web server is not installed... is this correct? And if this is right, is there a way to install apache or use my existing IIS without installing TV server?

I'm in the same boat, I just don't use a TV server because it kills my CPU, and there is a 8-10 second lag time when trying to watch TV, change channels, etc...

So, is there any option/ability to install just to use as a remote control for MP functions (Start MP, use to control TV-Series, Moving Pictures, arrows, etc...)? I wouldn't mind setting up a seperate Apache server or anything else, it just seems that the TV server really kills my PC for some reason.

Anyways, for all your hard work with this great app.

The option isn't there yet - but as I'm moving into adding the MP remote control functions I'll add it to the to do list.

The iPiMP remote control works ok just now - it mimics an MCE remote mostly.

I have also got the music playlist function nearly working - so you can view a list of playlists available on your MP clients and select them to play on the client - this should appear in the next version - soonish.

I am wondering if there are clear instructions for how I can get this plugin working with my PC and iPhone? I am only a beginner, I have only been using MediaPortal for 6 months, but have finally set it up to do what I want.

I tried installing this plugin but it wouldn't let the MediaPortal TV service load. I tried manually restarting it, but it kept on crashing.

Also it said some files were missing when I installed the app.

So can you explain exactly what files and applications I need to have installed so that I can get this to work?
