i'm using this with whs, apache would not run because the server root in the httpd.conf was pointing to some apache folder in the program files folder which didnt exist as the only apache folder was the one in the ipimp folder. further on the down their was another line which i linked to the correct apache folder.

but still no luck running it

get this for my ip

http://192.168.1.5/home/default.aspx?gotodefault=true

If you installed apache with the iPiMP installer then it doesn't use httpd.conf - it uses iPiMP.conf in the same folder.

Can you complete the steps detailed in the Known Problems / Troubleshooting section of the wiki and post them.

i was getting the httpd.conf errors when installing it, it worked ok after i edited the httpd.conf file to point to the apache folder in ipimp, added servername as localhost, and used port 400, then rebooted.

Not a fan of the mediaportal interface as i find it too slow and buggy (even on a quad core pc and new core 2 duo laptop), but now that i can setup recordings on a tv server installed on a whs through your program, I can watch them via different laptops and pc's in the house.

:D

What do folks think about integrating Twitter in iPiMP? - I thought I could add it to the program details page so you could tweet as well as email and maybe when you start a video/audio from the video/music menus or watch a transcoded recording a tweet could be posted with what you're watching/listening? This would be optional of course!

    Hi Cheezey,

    I don't use twitter (yet...) ;)

I also vote for 4TR and looking waiting for the ability to browse and use "My music" from my Ipod.

Thanks for the best (?) plugin!

    Hi there,

seems ipimp would be the right thing for me, but i cant get it to work!

OK, what i did. Set up my Macmini from the scratch (WinXP, SP3) with all actual drivers. Installed .net 3.5 and MP 1.0 (I. without and II. with TV support). Configured the paths in MP and everything worked. After that i installed ipimp 3.3.1.

Alternative I: No gentle. config. I know, copy it from..., but there is no gentle.config! OK, maybe ipimp only works with TV support? I only want to listen music and maybe watch a DVD. So what, again installing and...

Alternative II: Great! Gentle.config "found", hacked >ip:80< in iphone -> login screen, admin / pw and ... incorrect . OK, Admin / pw .... incorrect.... a.s.o. I created a User with Name and pw equal, the same ... incorrect...; Disabled the firewall and again all permutations. Always incorrect...

What made i wrong? Thanks in advance.

    Michael

cheezey: It seems you did a great job...

Install Mediaportal 1.0, TVServer 1.0 and the supplied TV-Client plugin for MP.
Setup your TV Server and check with the MediaPortal client everything is working first, before proceeding with iPiMP Setup.
If it is working (assuming you have done a testrecording from the client and watched it) try setting iPiMP up as adviced in the manual. I advise you to alter the port from standard 80 to something else (use one out of the free portrange). Use the gentle.config file from your TV Server folder, search in this forum and this thread particularly for more info. You don't have to enable transcoding support or the MP plugin in MP/TV Config yet, just make it plain simple first as you can add that all later. Check the iPiMP windows service is running. Try to connect with iPhone and use the standard login info, if you haven't altered it already it should work now.
