I tested your explanations. I removed the german .resx file AND changed the language of my phone to english (one change after the other).
If I then Login to iPIMP, the language changes to english. Ich I click then to the TV´s search menue, the title of the searchfield and the search item for genre remains in german (Alle). But I think, there might be a other reason for this behavior. I dont have the genre type "Alle" in MP and instead only a blank line. All other items are almost identical to what is shown in iPIMP. For wildcard search over all genres ther is a blank genre field in MP (maybe with the value NULL) -Screenshot. Is it possible to blank out "Alle" in iPIMP? From where comes "Alle", from MP Database or iPIMP App? If I change the genre from Alle to for example comedy, then it works fine.

I have to correct my last post. After playing a bit with iPIMP while my wife is blocking the TV suddenly the searchterm for genre switched from "Alles" to "All".Now, search in the TV Guide works perfekt. All i did was changing the Language of the Adroid OS. I can live with that becaus I prefer english allways on my computers.

I keep you informed if something goes wrong.

I think you should be able to leave the language of your phone as german and just remove the iPiMP uWiMPStrings.de.resx

Because you've done such an awesome job incorporating it, i want to use the transcoding feature to archive tv the missus and I want to keep. Not really in iPhone format though, hence my previous post about the bitrate. I've searched this thread and google but cant seem to find what i need to do to up the quality a bit. I'm aiming for kind of quality you see most on the net, 350mb per 45mins, 640x352, etc. I've changed the bitrate and res but the video still seems very blocky.

If you could just tell me which bits to fiddle with in the parameters it would be appreciated.

You're using the wrong version of iPiMP. There is a version for MP 1.0.2 and a version for MP 1.1 BETA. Uninstall & reinstall the correct version.

I got the same problem with MP 1.1 SVN and iPimp for MP 1.1 SVN. It looks like the MPTV-DB is not readable. How does iPimp work in this point? No problems with the music-database. Thanks, Thomas

I am experiencing now a very stable installation of iPIMP and it works very well on my Motorola Android. After several days of practice I think I get I feeling now of what could make the handling easier, raise the WAF and also got some ideas of what could make this App more sexy then it already is. Im know, iPIMP is written for the iPHONE therefore maybe some of my hints are not relevant because I am using the Android OS.b

1. One of my experience is, that the Android-Web-Browser keeps its last visited webpage as long as you don´t open an other link in the browser. By example, if you create an hyperlink to start iPIMP on Androids Desktop, the last used screen of iPIMP will be shown. This is nice because it´s a very fast way to access all the features of iPIMP and to handle it like a remote if you grab the phone. But it´s a pitty if you leave the phone and iPIMP open in the browser for some hours. The iPIMP doesnt react if you press for one of the buttons e.g. TV Guide, search or the Music. If you log out and in the everything is fine. Do you have a solution to provide some enhancements?

2. I love to use iPIMP for managing My Music. It´s Killer App is the Search Feature (you sit togehter with your friends and everybody can enqueue some music) and also switching between genres, years and so on. In my mind, it would be a great enhancement if you optimize the menu a bit. For example not to jump back frome Remote to the Home Screen if I want to search for an other song. Maybe you have some ideas how to optimize the screen in a way that My Music ist the Home Screen and TV is a sub (I am using it not more than once a day). I am also able to help you if you provide me a short introduction in how to develop menus and screens and the tools you are using.

3. I would love to get the Feature "Rating" in iPIMP because I love to surf my library since I discovered your lovely little tool. If I discover a new songs I would like to mark it by rating it an not put everything in a playlist that ends up as a trash can after one week or so. 5 Big stars, easy to press with a finger.

4. What I am not missing is last.fm. This because there is a graet App already available for the Milestone.

All 4 bullets are ideas to give you some feedback for your great Application.

MountFestuvious - As well as the bitrate you should also look at changing the size, the default parameters output a video 480x272 in size.

The best thing to do is research some ffmpeg parameters that will give you the quality you need and use those parameters in the plugin.

The next version will incorporate the Handbrake transcoding tool which comes with nice presets which will be more appropriate for your use.

skyjunky - Many thanks for the great ideas, I will think about them and see what can be done. There are some features of the WebApp.Net development framework which I have not used yet which may help with some of your points. I like the idea of rating since all the big plugins use it (MyMusic, MyVideos, MovingPictures & MY TVSeries) so once it's developed for one it is not too much more work to add it to them all.

Can i download ipimp v4.0.0 ?
My iphone fw 1.1.4 jailbreaked supports no WebApp.Net 0.5.0 and i cant see anything on it, FF on laptop is great!
Ipimp v3.5.0 works on iphone, but terminate MP 1.0.2 (now playing, mymusic).
I hope you can help me.

Why don't you just update your iPhone to 3.1.2? You can jailbreak that.

No - you can't use 3.5.0 interface on 4.1.0.
