Thanks fangio99 and other replies. I have tried everything I have the ability to do. I think the TV provides insist you sign in either by their app in smart tvs or the browser. I suspect they will start charging $$ someday. I have given up and gone to NextPVR program.

So I don't know if this is common knowledge but it seems that TV server DVB-IP supports basic m3u files but not m3u8 files. If your m3u URL reads m3u_plus then you're downloading an m3u8 file. Just remove the "_plus" from the URL and you should get an m3u file instead.

this all seems very strange. Tv server (with mpurlsourcesplitter) should be able to handle them both correctly.
can you dm me an m3u and m3u8 (including the urls of those 2) so I can take a look if I spot something strange?

The m3u8 has several extra entries on the first line of each entry.

    Eg.
    #EXTINF:-1 xui-id="{XUI_ID}" tvg-id="UK: BBC One Lon HD" tvg-name="BBC ONE FHD" tvg-logo="hxtps://bunnybox.media/logos/uk/bbc-one-uk.png" group-title="UK | Entertainment",BBC ONE FHD

The standard m3u has just 1 entry.

    Eg.
    #EXTINF:-1,BBC ONE FHD
