Mhm thanks for this information. Does anybody know a software to stream own streams through http and so that MP can read them?

Does anybody know here if it is possible to modify the iptv filter to stream mkv files through http?

Sure, VLC does this. VLC can stream files, discs, other streams and data from capture devices over http, udp and even rtp. I used this while testing the filter. You find this feature unter "Media"->"Streaming".

Does anybody know here if it is possible to modify the iptv filter to stream mkv files through http?
I would say it depends on the codec used within the mkv file. My provider for instance uses h264 for IPTV. That works without any problems. If its not working I think it is possible to add another type of media to the filter.

Would it also require some changes to the rest of Media Portal to handle a new codec? Under the "TV codec" tab of Media Portal Configuration it only has MPEG-2 and H.264. Does the IPTV filter make this tab irrelevant? What about the other TV features such as time shifting and recording?

    Thanks,

Is there any stable solution to play udp-http streams ?
If it was already discussed here, let me know.
    Thank a lot in advance.

I have to dive deep in to my memory, but in my opinion WMencoder can be used to setup some sort of VOD system. It can be used like VLC server to stream different thing, hence can even stream the desktop or a desktop window.

I can't remember how it can / would work with dynamically created playlist (directory scanning), but there is a full SDK available of all the functions, so you could write a MP plugin if needed.

    @Stepko and Dimka,

Just updated to RC2 and it looks like the filter does not work with it. No logs yet as I'm struggling with an other challenge first (Mayor audio/video sync issues). Will dive into it later.

I updated to RC2 and the IPTV-filter still works without any problems. Please be sure to replace the file again, because it is not part of MP. If you still have problems please let us know.

Hey guys, my TV Server will not pick up my IPTV channels.

The format in the m3u playlist is like:
    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:0,301 - Al Jazeera (English)
    rtp://@233.29.121.2:1234
    #EXTINF:0,302 - Bloomberg (English)
    rtp://@233.29.121.3:1234
#EXTINF:0,303 - Channel News Asia (English)
    rtp://@233.29.121.8:1234
#EXTINF:0,304 - World of Fashion (English)
    rtp://@233.29.121.20:1234
    #EXTINF:0,305 - Eurosport (English)
    rtp://@233.29.121.27:1234

    etc...

I have tested this exact same playlist in VLC on the TV Server and it all works fine. I don't see why when i scan for channels in the TV Server, using that same playlist that it will not pick up any of the channels. It just gives me a no signal error.
MP Version is 1.1 RC2, I have never tried on any previous versions.

I would post up logs, but I can't seem to find any relating to the IPTV Tuner.

    Cheers.
