IR Server Suite - Public Test Version (4 Viewers)

Seems like IR server gets exhausted... now after several days without problem it gave up blasting during normal but maybe quite intensive use of the remote.
Funny thing is that when I try to close and restart IR server it starts with strange error message in the log and does not function properly.
Not until after a total re-boot, the IR server starts normally again.

Attach three logs
1. The log when IR server stopped blasting
2. After first restart attempt (with the strange error messages)
3. Normal start after reboot.

Maybe the second log could give a clue what is going on....

TVmecken, Sounds like you have the same problem as me. I dont restart the computer though after the remote stops blasting. I instead run the installation of IR sever again and the remote starts working again. Does that work for you?

It seems like the IRServer process is getting killed but its really not because it is still listed in the running processes in the task manager.

Could you please run the debug copy and provide the driver log file that it creates?

I need to figure out if it is a communications problem or a device problem... I haven't been able to duplicate it here yet.

I have also some problems to repeat the problem. Will try to force it by duplicating blast commands. By accident last week the problem surfaced more "easily" when I started to use "system wide" commands for the amp sound (in Translator) but forgot to remove the same commands in the control plugin. Will try it again and save the driver log.

I instead run the installation of IR sever again and the remote starts working again. Does that work for you?

Maybe, will verify it next time it occurs.

It just so happens that I found the driver log from last week, even though it is not taken at the exact same situation as yesterday, it might help since the symptom was the same, ie stop blasting. Noticed that towards the end it refers to the same false (hardcoded?) development folders (not present in my HTPC) as seen in log #2 of my previous post.

Will still try and repeat the problem and provide all logs, but just in case this helps...

Thanks TVmecken, that helps a lot.

The path you see in the log is from my development pc, so don't worry about that.

The log shows me that the driver didn't stop working, so it must be a problem with the IR Server.

Also, I notice you are using the replacement driver. I can tell you now that the default driver is actually a better option. If you want replacement driver behaviour then disable the HidIr service (this can be done in the configuration of the device plugin, it's in the documentation). This is not related to your problem, but is a general piece of advise.

Hi,

after having some trouble with the mce replacemrnt plugin i moved to the ir server.

i have managed to to make the remote work in MP, but for the love of god i could not find how to config the ir blaster to control my STB.

i am using a single stand alone HTPC with on tuner. i did see in the documentation a plugin called TV2,
maybe this is the plugin i need? if so were can i find it or use it?

Posted a new version, please let me know if you have any problems.

Unfortunately, There has not been much time spent on this version due to a family emergency that has occupied 99% of my time over the last two weeks.

Suffice it to say that I hope to be able to dedicate more time in the coming weeks.

Please post any bugs (even one's you've already mentioned, it will remind me).

PS. I've come across some documentation on the IMon remote keyboard/mouse that would let me add support for those devices to work with the MCE Receiver. Is this something people would be interested in?

Hi Aaron. Thanks for posting the new version, and sorry to hear about the emergency.
Any idea on when the alternate method you mentioned would be implemented, so that keys from Translator would be detected by AutoHotkey etc? Also wondering if it would be possible to move the mouse to an absolute point instead of relative to whatever position it is already. I was going to do this with a macro -- first sending the mouse to a corner by moving it relatively by a large number (4000 px or something) and then moving it relatve to the corner I know it is in. But there is no mouse option in the macro builder.

Hey,

I haven't had a chance to change the Keystroke simulation method yet. But I am pretty confident that I can fix that problem. I'll work on it over the next couple of days and try to get something for you soon.

The absolute mouse positioning is something I've considered before. If you have a need for it then I'll put it in too. And I'll add mouse actions to the macro editor.

Wow, that's great Aaron. I really personally would require only either the absolute positioning or the keystroke method fix. But I guess that the latter would be more applicable for other uses as well. Thanks again for all the great work.
