they never work in any version under any plugin (not in MP and not in translator) even when it says IR successfully learned, it blast but nothing change on the set-top-box.

help please or any other solution to blast set-top-box from mediaportal

thanks

1.) So you can learn then?
2.) When you blast does it flash the light on the blaster?

Note: Also the blasters need to be right on the sensor of whatever you want to blast to... For example if you are blasting to you sound system you need to place the blaster (the small thing with sticky back plastic on the back) right onto (or just bellow) the ir sensor for the sound system. I have managed to get on to work about 30cm away pointing directly at the ir sensor (with the wire coming out pointing directly away form it) just on the table in front of the sound system but I do find that it works better if it is almost stuck on top of the sensor. I am not sure why they don't work like a normal remote and work from the other end of the room but that M$ for you! ;-)

I think I have mentioned this in a prior post but why does closing Mediaportal kill IRSS... Also when launching MP if I have the imon display enabled my IRSS dies as soon as it is activated. I've ended up having to write a vbscript to determine when MP is fully loaded and then re-initialise IRSS configuration and server software..

Am using process not service (HID mode)

Thanks

yes the light blinks on the blaster. i kept the remote almost 1-2 cm from the receiver while doing learning. also the IR sensor was directly stick in front of my set-top-box while blasting. i even tried keeping it at arround 2cm while blasting, just to try. none of the setting works.

Sounds like it has something to do with the learning process. What equipment do you have? (Make/model) maybe you can find someone else who has the same equipment send you there already learned ir files for that equipment that they know works and then you can test it on you setup. If that works then you know that it is the learning process that is faulty not the blasting process?

If we can't find anyone then maybe we can try learning the green button as I have that one and we can compair the files. Infact if you can then learn the green button from your MCE remote (what version is it?) and put the file it creates up (sorry I don't know where it is of the top of my head and I am at work so can't check) then I will do the same when I get home and check they are the same (I won't get home for maybe 11-12 hours from this post as I got things to do tonight) don't forget to also list your equipment as that will help if it is the learning process that doesn't work as we might be able to get you up and working with files from other users. :)

thanks for you replies. I have MCE RC6 (thats what written on the back side, bought from ebay) remote that comes with the HP IR transceiver. this transceiver has 2 blaster ports. I am also at work right now and will post the pictures of my ramote and transceiver after i get back to home.

btw, if i enable the remote in MP, it works perfectly without any issues with every button responding to what it made for. as soon as I disable it and run IRSS, its responce gets slower and i have to click the same button miltiple times for the function. also, My Video doesn;t work at all (this is so far i have discovered).

these forums are the best source for the help so please keep this good work rolling.

thanks in advance

Sorry think you missunderstood. When I asked about you equipment I mean what you are trying to blast to for example you set top box or sound system.

Can't help you with this as I don't get this problem. Although I do remember someone else saying this recently when I was scrolling though all these posts trying to get mine working... Have a read thought the other posts in this thread and the others as they might help.

Why don't you tell the make and model of the STB and TV? Maybe someone might have the same model (at least for the Sony TV) and share the IR code with you for testing. That way you can narrow down your problem to either learning or blasting.

great idea. My TV model is already there in "My System", but just in case my TV is SONY BRAVIA Z450 LCD 46" 200hz

My. STB is some model from Thomson. I'll post the details after reaching home.

    thanks
