    elconejito:

    1. in input service configuration configure the microsoft mce component.
    2. Try re-learning any buttons that fail and also maybe add a pre-change pause.

    Nobleware:

you need to disable mediaportals built in support for the remote and just use the MP Control Plugin.

if you want to remap the volume buttons you need to disable automatic button handling .. this can be done in the configuration of the microsoft mce component in input service configuration ... if that makes sense...

    hope that helps,

I think I know what the back button problem is ...

Back is one of the buttons that's automatically acted on by the ehome drivers (at least, it is on my pc) so you'll need to disable the automatic button handling to get it working ... I'll double check everything and maybe make a change in the next version if there is a problem here.

    Cheers,

    Hi Aaron:

Disabling automatic button handling did the trick for me! Thanks! I'm not happy chappy again! :D

    hey guys,

    I've released a new test version 1.4.2 Preview 7.

Notice that I've changed the version numbering scheme in the lead-up to 1.4.2 final (formerly 1.0.4.2).

It really only addresses the issues that are shown in the What's New text, but there were a couple that needed quick attention.

Oh, and there's experimental Imon Support in there as well.

My intention was to release 1.4.2 final by April 1, but I got held up with some MediaPortal bugs.

If this version doesn't introduce any new bugs it will go Final within days.

The final version will include the documentation (debug builds currently don't due to download size limitations on the forum) and will be built without debug info and with code optimisations.

I've got some new features coming in 1.4.3, which will be mainly a bug-fix release (definitely released within 1 month).

    Cheers,

Hmm, I didn't get any response from my remote in MP using the new iMON support. I've turned off the MP remote support and I was able to confirm that the service is getting the remote codes using the DebugClient app that is included in the IR Suite installation.

I also noticed that the IR Service runs consistently at 50% CPU usage for me. Is this just because it's a debug preview?

    Thanks for your efforts!

    Focus on Vista

    Hi Aaron,

First let me say great app.

I am currently using IR Server Suite 1.4.2 (Preview 7) under MP V0.2.3.0 on a windows Vista 32bit machine.

Everything works fine but for 2 issues and I was hoping you could direct me to the correct log files to look at.

    1. When I launch Mediaportal with the Tray Launcher, MP launches as it should but complete focus is not given to MP as the Vista start button is still visible on the screen so have to use my keyboard to give MP complete focus.

    2. Sometimes the input service stops and the tray laucher just says re-connecting but I have to restart the service to get it going again?

Can you tell me what log file I need to look at to see what maybe causing these issue?

    Thanks
    Rsykes

    Rskyes:

I actually have the same problem, although I'm using XP SP2 rather than Vista. I've found a little utility called MPfocus (MEDIAPORTAL - free MediaCenter HTPC Software - MpFocus) that will give focus to MP everytime it loses focus. I put a shortcut for the app in my startup, and that way it always launches everytime my PC starts-up. Seemed to work fine for me.

    Terriff:

I don't have an imon myself, so the support for it is still experimental ... however I've attached a new copy of the Imon Input Service Plugin that you can copy over the existing one, it should work properly now... (for everything except the mouse stick on MCE remote keyboards, I'm still working on that).

    RSykes:

MediaPortal is a real bastard when it comes to focus! I think we should add a config option to steal focus on launch, but that would be a new feature and probably wont get in before the new version. I'll see what the dev team say.

In the meantime I've beefed up Tray Launcher's focus forcing code... Try the attached Tray Launcher.exe and see if it solves your problems.

    wlgspotter:

MpTray is quite popular because of this. See my reply to RSykes above.

Thank you very much for all your help.
