Can't learn/blast DirecTV remote codes (0-9)

Hi all,

I have the IRSS test build 2627 installed with MP+TVS 1.0.1.0. I am using the TV3 Blaster Plugin to attempt to program IRSS to blast to my DirecTV H21-200 STB. Since the code set is not in the default list I am attempting to learn the codes from the DirecTV remote (model RC64) IRSS reports that the code was learned and when I press the Test button the blaster flashes but the STB does not respond. I also tried to have the translator learn using the Programs feature (because the code is displayed in the UI and I wanted to see what code was coming through). In the Translator interface (when I go through the learn) none of the buttons on the DirecTV remote are able to be learned (just keep getting a timed out notice during the learn).

How can I get IRSS to control my H21-200 if I can't learn from the remote?

My experience has been that at times IRSS reports that it has learned the code but does not blast properly. The solution is to keep learning the codes until it is properly learned. Generally it does not take more than 4 attempts to teach the correct code.

Cannot blast through eHome Transceiver using IRSS

Still no joy with being able to learn my RC64 DirecTV remote with IRSS. I seems as though codes are being learned and saved but that blasting through the eHome transceiver is not working (my STB, an H21-200, does not respond). So, I also tried to have IRSS learn my TV remote control volume button and that didn't even work. Now I am wondering if there is some basic limitation of the MCE eHome Transceiver that prevents blasting of the signals I have recorded. When I use the Test button to test the learned codes the blaster does flash (in all instances) but no devices are responding.

Is there a basic problem using the eHome Transceiver to blast learned codes from non-MCE remotes?? Has anyone had any success doing this?

My next tact is to try to use my IgorPlug USB IR receiver to learn from and then blast back through the eHome Transceiver (I don' know what software I can use to learn in this mode - or if it's even possible).

Any/all suggestions appreciated.

Hi, I once had this problem.

I solved it by having the remote and the reciever realy close to each other when learning the code. I mean realy close like 0.5 - 1 cm from each other.

So, are you saying that I can definitely use the eHome Transceiver with IRSS to learn any arbitrary remote control and blast its commands through the eHome using IRSS?

Sorry to ask... Does any one know if there will be any development on the HIR problem. I can imagine there must be a lot of people having to resort to Imon Manager, which is not cool..

The new Soundgraph interface is very popular and I would imagine many more people are going to be going through this in the near future. Thanks

Couldn't you make a topic just for iMON, would be a lot easier for all imon users to know how far you are and it would be easier to help as well. Right now it's quite impossible.

can someone help me out here? I am using windows 7 x64 and XBMC with a hauppauge MCE remote and IR Server Suite v1.4.2.2627. The anoying problem I keep having is that the mediacenter controls on my remote cannot be shut down. I have tried everything but it just does not work the way I want it to. Every time I have used one of the mediacenter controls it seems like the other buttons don't work anymore and I have to restart the application.

I bet the solution is quite simple, but I am really stuck here.

Hey I am having a very strange problem... I can no longer alter key mapping from with in "MP Control Plugin"... Strange thing is that it is only for the MCE Remote.. IF I ad an Imon Pad there is no problem and I can easily change the mapping

1.. Goto MP Control Plugin from with in MediaPortal configoration
2.. Add Remote, Microsoft MCE
3.. Click Map Buttons, go to option for instance "Teletext Buttions/Blue/All Layers"
4.. Add "Condition Window - Fullscreen Video"
5.. Add "Action - AutoZap"

No luck, can change the action but can not change the condition. It just stays on "Condition - Home"

As I said I seem to be able to easily make alterations with the Imon Pad remote, just not the MCE. I have played around with IRSS for a good six months and have altered my mapping many times. This makes absolutely no sense to me..

Any help much appreciated.
