Hello Aaron,

I have tried to make my iMon Pad Remote working with my Soundgraph VFD (0x3601) for a week now. The manual workaround by switching iMon Frontview from Never to Always and back to Never worked - but the WAF for this solution is close to zero!

I am now attempting to set up the IR Server (1.4.2 RC1) solution as described in detail in this thread. Unfortunately I am experiencing similar issues as reported earlier by globaldonkey. Numbers, Enter, ESC, left and right mouse click seem to work (at least in Notepad). Mouse/Keyboard button has no function, mouse can be controlled from the pad, cursor won't move when pressing center pad.

When the service starts the plugin correctly finds three devices, yet the log file repoprts that the iMon manager can't be found (see attached logs). I have tried all the different Cybrmage USB dll test versions, which he has posted in this thread, however, without any change. While the HID log says that no iMon software can be found, the USB receiver log says it does.

I start being clueless - any idea? Things seem to be working for some people, hence I remain optimistic...

Hi there,

i am currently trying to map the "start button" of my MCE remote in that way that media portal starts. I have already managed to disable the start of media center (by disabling every service and program in the taskmanager, starting with "eh" and ending with .exe Then i have renamed the ehome folder to ehome_old --> brute force disabling ). However, if i try to program the translator or the tray launcher, it does not recognize the button. Instead, the current application always looses its focus. What am i doing wrong? How can i fix this? I am using 1.4.2 RC1 on Vista Home Premium x64.

Thermaltake DH-102

Hi and-81,

I have a thermaltake DH102 with touchscreen lcd, imon manager 6.20 installed.

The device is recognized as hid USB HUMAN INTERFACE

I have installed your ir server 1.4.2 rc1, replaced imon usb dll etc. in plugin folder, and replaced mpcontrol dll in mediaportal plugin folder.
I use last dll posted from you "14/5".
The i've cofigured all, but i can't get remote working and debug tool says "not configured to learn command".

Please help me..

My Idea was to only replace the existing .dlls from the standard installation with these files. But when i'm in MP Configuration and i would like to Config the IR Plugin nothing happens when i press config.

I would like to use it with IMON - i read thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...n-pad-ir-server-1-4-2-all-buttons-work-40004/ where is written that it works fine and i hate the SOUNDGRAPH software especially because the PAD is to fast a single press down sends about 10 key presses.

I don't know what our russian friend did. What he describes doesn't work for me either, also it is not at all in line with the information given in this thread, particularly the use of the testing versions of Cybrmage. In any case you may want to look for the Cybrmage updates of USB iMon Receiver (I think I used version 2008_05_14). This version includes some more extensive logging for debug purposes (look at IR Server data under All Users) that you should a) take a look at and b) post here. You should see two log files, one is called iMonHIDReceiver and the other iMonUSBReceiver. Just zip all log files in the Logs directory together and post in your answer.

You may have misplaced the respective dll since configuration is definitely possible (although my remote still doesn't work in MP). MediaPortal recognizes the dll but it can't be used if it is not located at the right place. Check once more against the explanation that I have sent you.

One other thing that you can do is to check whether the remote is functioning in other programs, e.g. Notepad. Open Notepad, give it the focus by clicking into the edit area, try the different keys and report whether the pad allows you to move the cursor in keyboard mode.

The button for MyVideos (Videos) isn't working for me. All of the other buttons (ie. Pictures, Live TV, Recorded TV, etc.) are working properly.

I've checked the button mapping in the MP Config plugin and it is set to the proper action (Window->Video) and the abstract remote mapping is set to the proper raw remote code (2074) for the Videos button press.

I'm not sure what else I could look at to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

Can anyone please confirm if your MediaCenter remote "Videos" button DOES work with the IR suite?? Thanks.

Is it possible to create my own remote map with all the buttons on my remote, then go into the config and map key presses to all those buttons. Then map these buttons to activities inside MP?

If so, where are the remote maps kept? and where is the one for say "media centre full" so I can butcher it for my new remote?

I ask because I have a learning remote with a screen which I can add loads of "buttons" which show on the screen and flick through them on pages, I have more buttons than any of the default remotes in the controlplugin so I cant map any of these extra buttons and would like to do so.

Is this at all possible?

I've seen Vista re-load the MCE services from time to time on my own setup... make sure all the mce services are disabled, and if you make the registry change as well then even if they start they shouldn't see the remote being pressed.

The only other time the settings could be reverted is if the device is re-installed, but I doubt that is happening (unless a windows update did it...)

Actually I haven't changed anything after PC button has done this and then it works again for days again. There are no MCE services running (checked) and registry is also cleaned for remotes buttons. I have no clue what triggers this, currently I'm forced to use beamers own power-button as there's no other good button left on MCE-remote to program this feature.

There's other issue as well. I'm not sure if it's only me or has anyone else seen this. I've been using newest SVNs (newer than RC1) and haven't reinstalled IR server between MP reinstalls. Everything seems to work alright except sometimes MP triggers commands I've never sent. Like when watching record, and trying to skip forward, it suddenly opens tv channel with epg-view and also makes sound go mute (I get sound back after pressing mute). I don't know it's MP or remote issue but it's sure been happening a lot lately.
