Well, now I've been reading this thread up and down, and isn't even close to fix the matter of Harmony 555 and IMon..

Hardware:

Antec Fusion V2 - Soundgraph display - Latest driver
Logitech Harmony

Software

MediaPortal 1.0.0.0 Final release
pluggs:
IRSS 1.4.2 latest buld downloaded here
MiniDisplay (works like a charm by the way)
Imon diabled - though, the driver is there (from 2004??)

What I have done:

1. Set the Harmony to three different things, so I can swap between testing with it (Windows Media Centre, IMon IPad and MediaPortal).
2. Set MP config - No remote (should I also do that under the plugin config?)
3. Set the Input Service configuration to IMON-recieve and MCE to transmit
4. Tried various combinations of all the described above, but MediaPortal won't react on the remote.. Tried it on IMON software itself, againt Windows Media Centre and then it works perfect!..

Well, can the problems be that the MiniDisplay plugin 'steals' it's focus? I've tried to disable the plugin, but no success either.

I see alot others having the same pain in the #¤&, so is there a hope for us, or should we just give up now? This is SO frustrating, since it's the only darn thing that doesen't work on the MediaPortal

Don't know if it will help on your system but I solved it on my Antec Fusion case.

I set the IRSS to receive with the iMon receiver and choose MCE as hardware. Set up the remote to Microsoft Media Center on the Harmony.

In the plug-in configuration (reached by first entering mediaportal-configuration then navigate to plug-ins and then choose input-plugin for IRSS) it's preconfigured to map buttons against a MCE Remote on the first tab of the config screen (If not choose MCE remote from the drop down and press Add). If you expand the different buttons (by clicking on the plus-signs) on that first screen you will see which remote code is mapped to each button. The codes will read something like 314562 etc.

My problem was that for some reason these codes where not the ones sent by the remote (or actually I think the iMon receiver is changing the codes). My remote/receiver sent commands that read something like 2034 etc (I believe this is codes corresponding to keyboard codes, but I'm only guessing).

If this is the case for you it can easily be solved by clicking on the plus-sign for let's say the button STOP. When this is expanded you simply press the STOP button on your remote. The configuration will then remap this button to the code sent by your remote. Go trough all the buttons and then it will all work.

You can verify if you have the same problem by looking in the logs for IRSS, each time you press a button on the remote it will log an entry in the log with the code received from the remote. If those codes are in the range of 2000-2100 you most likely have the same problem as I had and you can solve it the same way (I think the log is named input-service.log or something similar). I'm sorry that I cannot be more specific when it comes to log names etc but I'm not able to access the computer which had this problem in a while.

Is there any way to set up Translator with system wide settings that control the Windows standard media APPCOMMANDs (play, pause, volume up/down/mute etc.)? I can't find what needs to be set within Translator to make this work.

I've been having a look at 'Window Message' but I can't work out how to send the message to the system rather than a specified application.

Does anybody know how to do this?

I would like to thankyou, this sollution did the trick! There is alot forgotten in the documentation obviously, but as you explained it, then, everything worked JUST as it should. (I chose the FULL MCE though, to get mor functions)

@brian_damage : The latest driver, found at Soundgraph homepage, this worked for me.

I am still trying to just get the Configuration dialog from the MP control plugin to open. When I click on "Configure" in MP Configuration, nothing happens. I haven't found any indications in any log files. I hve attempted reinstalling IRSS (1.4.2.2391) several times. Each time, the installation appears to be successful, but I still can't open the MP control plugin configuration. Previous requests for help in this thread have gone unanswered. How can I find out what the problem is, and fix it?

Fixed my own problem with a bit of searching and guess work....I used this link MCE Remote Replacement Driver FAQ to find out the APPCOMMANDS translated to Window Messages.

For an example, to set Mute - I added a config for the Mute button in the System Wide settings of Translator...reading the information from the link above you'll see the "Hip command" is '{@793,0,524288}' - which when translated means you need to setup the button to send a 'Window Message', breaking down the {@793,0,524288} thus:

@ = Active Window
793 = Message
0 = Word Param
524288 = Long Param

Once you set this in translator, the mute button will work system wide - you can do the same for vol +, vol - etc. etc.

I hope this helps some people who had the same problem as me.
