I followed your steps exactly. The error log is pretty much the same as yesterdays log.
I clicked on Detect during inputservice setup and the log shows the same error again concerning win32 applications.

I've read somewhere that with these errors it might be worthwhile to compile the program set to x86 platforms instead of all platforms.

Please try renaming "Direct Input Receiver.dll" to "Direct Input Receiver.disabled" and restart IR service to see if this make any difference.

I've done so. The error message is now gone, however the USB UIRT is still not detected at all. The USB UIRT Transceiver.dll is a different version then was packaged with 1.0.3.5 (Difference in size as well) so could it be this version simply doesn't work properly with Vista X64 ?

Right now i use inputservice..if you think i should try the IR Server application please let me know. The issue exists with both though.

I think you should mae a quick try using a IRSS compiled for x86 then...

Will see if I find time to provide one

I've tried to use 1.0.3.5 version of the USB UIRT plugin in IRSS 1.4.2.0.2963, it didn't work either.
The x86 thing was just an idea..i don't know if it makes any difference. It was initially an idea to avoid the win32 error as i've seen some forum posts concerning this topic where compiling for x86 worked, however the error message on direct input receiver was solved so am not sure if it would help now.

Honestly i'm not sure what else i can check.

I can see the move from IR Server to Inputservice took place from 1.0.3.5 to 1.0.4.0. Anything big happen there that could hamper USBUIRT support?

Hi Simone, just a quick question.. I've switched to IR Server.exe rather than the IRService process. So far so good.... One problem. though..

I had assigned my Power2 button to press the keys ALT F4 rather than suspend, I've done this with Translator as well as Mediaportal plugin.. I use the button for exiting applications like PowerDVD and BOXEE. But now when I ever I press the button, the system just goes to sleep. For the life of me I can't work out how to bypass this.. I've disabled all Windows eHome functions, any ideas...

Didn't have this problem with IRService. Thanks for your time.

Don't worry, fixed it... It seems to have to disable it in advanced power settings, it seems that the IRService overrides windows sleep settings yet IR Server.exe does not... So I just disabled the sleep button state.

One more thing worth noting... It seems that IR Server.exe crashes when I fully exit out of mediaportal, a restart is required to regain remote control response. Not a biggie as I always just keep MP minimised rather than close it when launching external applications.. Please tell me if logs would be required and which ones to grab. Thanks

I cant get IRSS to work with Winlirc. I have tried searching for a solution but i cant find anything. I have setup winlirc and got it working with my blaster, but i cant get it to work with IRSS.
In debug mode it says it connects successfull to winlirc, but when trying to send a test blast it just failure.. (Received message: "Blast IR, Response, Failure" ) thats what it says... dont know why and what i can do about it. Also, when looking in Input Service Log, it says following:

Could someone explain to me why this error occurs? :)

Another thing, is it possible to integrate RS232 remote possibillitys through IRSS? I have been testing some software from a guy named Borax who build this RS232 remote testing software and it worked really well. His purpose was to use that software to then let some other guys build a plugin for mediaportal. He allready has all code, or a very good start at least...

But the way it is now, he dont have time to keep this work up.
Now heres my point... :p It would be VERY cool if this could be integrated to IRSS. Its a very good way for us having RS232 inputs on our receivers and projectors etc. also, its a VERY STABLE way to have control over your devices.

This really is a feature request from me! And i know there is many other out there that also is in need of this feature. :)
    Hope its possible!
