But could you please provide the Readme.doc file in plain txt format? I (and probably others too) does not have or need Office installed on the HTPC - thanks!

Just tried the new beta and it works great on the LCD, but I have a couple of problems with Mediaportal control when the plugin is enabled.

1) When mediaportal opens, it now also opens a property viewer in the background which seems to be stealing focus from media portal..causing problems with my remote operation.

2) The second might be related to the first, when I give mediaportal the focus, occasionally it will still receive commands (I hear the sound) but the UI will not update, I need to exit and restart to get it working again.

Both of these things go away when I turn off the plugin...am I missing something simple?

I have a pb with my hd44780 LCD since the beginning. It's a 20*4 LCD.
It works well with Smarties and JaLCDs but I have never tested with LCDHype.
My problème is that only a half of the LCD displays something. It seems to be "sqeezed". It's enough strange to describe...

Did you notice that there is a special driver for HD44780 4x40 displays?
Try to set the Com. Delay to 40. If it works you can try to lower that value to speedup the display a bit...

In myHome, for example, there are still some problems to display on the 2nd line the current selected menu item (it remains blank).
In myRadio when a radio channel is selected, the name is displayed, but after some seconds the default screen is displayed again. In this case I would leave the radio channel displayed, otherwise you have to press a key to know which channel is selected!

The second line in the Home screen will only display something with the next version of MP. Or you can get the latest sources from CVS and build it yourself.

About the radio. I see there isn't a rule in my config file to handle radio.
You can try to add one yourself, if you like. I'd put it somewhere between PlayingMusic and PlayingTV.

It would have to be something like

<Line Alignment="Left">
<Text Value="Radio" />
</Line>
<Line Alignment="Left">
<Property Value="#channel" />
</Line>
</Message>

I can't give you the exact property name for the radio channel as I can't use my radio since version 0.10. You can enable the propertybrowser to find out the exact name. (If you find it, please let me know so I can add it to the default configuration)

If you had read the Readme file you could have figured out how to turn off that property browser without turning off my plugin :wink:

In the left bottom corner of the setup screen of my plugin there is an option "Show Propertybrowser". I guess that is (still) checked on your PC...

I just got an error with version 20b:
On inserting a movie with following autoplay a message box without button appeared complaining some missing strings. Maybe it has to do with some i18n stuff? After this error the display was frozen even restarting MediaPortal did not help..
Everything else works without any issues - great work!

I think I figured out the problem with the SED133x LUI driver

Please try the following:
- Shutdown Mediaportal
- Create a new folder LUI in the Mediaportal home folder (where Mediaportal.exe is located)
- Move the LUI.DLL from the Mediaportal home folder into that new folder.
- Then start Mediaportal again.

I used a filesystem monitor to figure out what the driver was doing, this way I found out that the driver tried to load LUI.DLL from that folder. Because it couldn't find it in there, it also couldn't use it to send information to the display.

I updated the LCDTest and plugin zips on my website to include this change...

Let's hope this will solve your problem.

Hi Joe,

now the display is initialized and cleared but there is no output on the display. I think it is a step forward.
I think there must be a special way of communicating with this special LCD. Maybe the guys from LCDHype can help ?

Could you give me more information about this error? I can't reproduce the problem...
