Hi Joe,
on the first post you said that since MP 0.1.3.0 the ExternalDisplay plugin could send generated text to Girder.

I have a KS0108 graphic display that is not supported by your plugin jet.
So my idea was to send the text/information to Girder and use Girder to display on my LCD. Perhaps I have to send the text to LcdHype also.

Is there anybody out there who has experience in how/what could be received in Girder? Perhaps somebody has example-code for Girder.

Thanks
Schmidti

Using the external Display Plug-in, I am unable to get it to drive my Imon usb VFD. It only displays the message "Plug-IN". I've config the Plug-in for Imon VFD and USB.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Don't feel bad, mine is doing the same thing.
I don't want to speculate as to what is causing this since I haven't taken any time to look into it.

There are 2 iMON drivers now. Did you try to change it to the other? Mine is running great with the first iMON driver....
Btw: Did you change the port to USB?

I guess reading will do the trick. After changing it to the other iMon driver it worked immediatly. I am now a proud LC-16 owner with MP! :D

Not sure if anyone else is getting this but with my music's new screen, the now playing / next screen it shows the song duration but not the song info ie Title, Artist, Album. But if I go back to the usual My music screen the information appears. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks

yeah thats because the tags in MP aren't filled in with info the LCD plugin uses to show on the LCD.... Example: in standard Music you see a scrolling songtitle/artist/duration in the left bottom corner... this is displayed by the tags in MP.

I've done some stupid things in my life but messing that up isn't one of them. ;)

I'll try the other driver, sounds like that should fix it.
Like I said... hadn't taken the time to look into it.

Ok, had it on the iMon driver and tried switching to Soundgraph...
The config program crashes.

The MediaPortal log ends with ExternalDisplay: Loading Drivers...
Oh joy.
Rebooted machine, loaded config, disabled external display, re-enabled external display, changed display type.... no crash.
Loaded MediaPortal and the display now works.
Thanks!

problem with external display plug setup

I am trying to get the iMON VFD to work on my silverstone case... but whenever I try to enable the external display plugin and go to the setup, it crashes. I get an error message saying "unhandled exception" and " Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" then a huge dialog box about "just in time debugging" and stuff.

Any suggestions?
