Just did a clean install on friday, not because of the new beta, but my OCZ vertex just died the day before.
The previous installation was the same, just with media portal 1.1.3.

When I started I had a lot of problems with live TV. A lot of artifacts and stuttering of video.
I've changed the Timeshift location from the WD Green disk to the OCZ vertex. This helped a Little.
I've also set the "Do not drop Discontinuity frames" option in the advanced settings. This also helped a little.
But Live TV isn't as stable as with the previous installation. attached al the logs I could gather.

As said, with the previous installation I had no problem with artifacts or stuttering. I've did a complete new
run with high quality cable, splitter and signal amplifier. Also only used high quality F connectors for all connections.

    Hi lord.warlock

From what I can see in your logs you are missing a DLL. Can you check if the KNCBDACTRL.dll DLL is present in your TV Server install folder. If it isn't, please download and extract the attached DLL into the TV Server install folder.

Note: It seems that you are using MDAPI. Team MediaPortal does not provide support for that configuration. If you want further help you will either need to disable MDAPI and post new logs or ask for help on other forums.

    Hi mm1352000,

I've cheked the DLL you mention is in the TV Server directory. And it's the same size and has the same data time stamp as the one you've attached.
It not possible to register the DLL. Do you have any idea what the problem could be ?

    Cheers,

It isn't necessary to register that DLL. I wonder whether that issue has something to do with permissions. You did run the installer as administrator didn't you?

Ignoring the DLL for the moment, what level of CPU is being used when you watch TV? Perhaps your codecs are not set up correctly and hardware accelerated video decoding is not being used...

I did indeed start the installation as administrator.

When watching TV cpu usage is about 10 to 15 %, when watching HD tv it's about 15 to 20 %. Seems to me that hardware acceleration is working ok ?

I've attached two screen shot's, one fo the Video codec screen, and one of the tv codec screen.
It looks like I'm missing a audio code, the AAC one, but other than that the installation is default.
I'm using the k-lite codec pack, latest version which is 7.1 if I'm not mistaken.

Ah, that could very well be the problem. To solve:

    1. Download the Monogram AAC decoder from here.
    2. Extract the ax file into your preferred folder.
    3. Use regsvr32 to register it.
    4. Select it in MediaPortal TV codec configuration.

Done, the codec is now selectable in the configuration.
What i've also noticed, in the debug screen the red line seems way to active, act fps.
    See attached.

Yes, it looks like there is a regular "problem" that is causing the frame rate to drop. This problem could very easily be caused by MDAPI. Like I said earlier, Team MediaPortal does not provide support for MDAPI. Please can you check channels that don't require MDAPI, or unfortunately I won't be able to provide any further help...

How do I disable the MDAPI plugin. I've set the TV card to no cam support but than the Plugin is still used. I only have 1 free to air channel to test. At the moment it's showing the same fps as the screenshot. So if I disable the plugin the effect should be instant..

One issue you have on your setup is that you are (according to the stats) playing 50 fps material on 60 Hz screen.
