I'm not sure that is my problem, but it could be. Will check the heat of the card next time i get a freeze.
Interesting what you say about terratec and Twinhan/Asurwave are the same cards. Could explain my problem with the scrambled channels

Take a look in the tv.log file, seach for "FireDTV driver version"

I don't know if it helps, but i have 3 FireDTVS2's in my system; and i had linked the firewire thru there own PCB, with the first card connected to the firewire connector on the mainboard.
Now i have seperated them from eachother and connected them to mainboard and back/firewire ports.
In the end it "feels" a lot stable at this point.... (no errors, no strange crashes, no rebooting >> aka Tuner N/A); or im lucky at this point

I have only one card, so that will not be the problem. A older driver version of the Firedtv did the job.

I had a terratec synergy dvb-s2 card, that's the same card as the twinhan dvb-s2.
My card always crashed after watching tv for an hour or so.
The problem of this was an overheated lnb-ic (under the heatsink), it became so hot (over 140 degrees) that it's termal protection was activated.
only rebootig resets that protection.

I mounted a bigger heatsink (2 times as big) on the ic, but the ic became again verry hot---> no tv

Then I bought another card ---> problem solved.

The terratec synergy s2, technisat skystar hd2, twinhan dvb-s2and the azurewave ad-sp400 are the same cards.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but i'm having similar problems, and wondering if this could be my issues also, i have a terratec cinergy 2400i sitting directly next to my gpu which only has a passive heat sink, so wondering if it's overheating.

Question is, how did you measure the temp on the TV card? and how did you know it's thermal protection was activated/
