I think Some LNBs have 2 LOFs an upper and lower LOF. the swtich is which LOF to choose:

LOF1 = 9750Mhz
Switch=12671Mhz
LOF2=10600Mhz

So anything 12671Mhz and above would use LOF2 frequency.

Again this is my understanding and I may totaly incorrect! When I configured my Medialportal with tvengine 0.2; since I only had one LOF frequency, I set LOF1 and LOFSW to "0" and set LOF2 to 11300.

Yeah I think I'm wrong about that. I think you are right the; switch frequency should be the frequency to switch the LNB. I'm not sure about the 4x4 switch does that have a different frequency for each LNB you want to switch to? In tvserver I think the switch frequency is only intended to switch between 2 ranges on a single LNB. Actually the tvserver lnb override options are farily inflexable, it was a better setup in TV2 since the setting were per LNB. tvserver assumes that all your LNBs are the same. I suggest you use your diseqc switch. It will work with your skystar 2 but only if you use the WDM driver not the BDA. (I have a ss2 and have used it with a diseqc swtich). another way you might be able to get it working is to scan the channels in manualy with out the switch (just switching cables then go into each channel and specify the switch options for each channel. might work?

I'm sure the devs will be happy to expand the LNB options to allow all individual settings for each lnb but I don't want to hassel any of them about it right now, I think they are very busy and have higher priority things on the go atm. :)

Cheers,
Rhys

Ya the manual editing approach might hold the key... But it seems to me that the little piece of magic that I would still need to know is how to control the 22khz on the skystar2 from inside media portal. Because adding what you said to what I have gathered from reading elsewhere, it's sounding to me like the way mytheatre does it (by entering a switch freq value of 12200 or 12700) was some sort of kludge... but then again, I am grasping all this by a thread. Trying to understand, but...

By the way, the 4x4 switch works like this... It's inputs are static... it has 2 inputs for LNB1, and 2 for LNB2. On each LNB pair, one input is kept at each polarization (13V, and 18V). Then, the switch connects the desired input from the dish to any of the 4 outputs based on whether the output is getting 13 or 18 volts from the dvb card, and LNB1 or 2 is selected by the absence or presence of the 22khz tone.

I've tryed the manual approach with no success, the Lof1,lof2 and switch setting are hardcoded (in the "setting" table for TvServer and in card.xml for MP)

I think there is a newer driver (4.4.3) maybe be beta but it works just fine. I think you should be able to get it working with diseqc if you play arround a bit :)

If you have two sat with different LNB settings for each, PM me I have made a awful patch that work.

I'll eventually open the source code and make a real patch when I'll have the time...

Hi all I started to read this thread right before I ended up getting the circular dish settings to work. I was having the same problem scanning for channels. I could never get any channels. I had been trying with media portal version. I ended up following the TV Server video tutorials to a "T" and it ended up working for me so far still not sure how to use the CAM CI for My Theatre yet but one thing at a time. I know this might seem a little on the obvious side but, I had tried to install MP a few times in the past with no luck on the channels and for whatever reason decided to start from scratch again and BINGO. I am using a TWINHAN VP 1025 on MCE rollup 2.Well I hope that this helps. Good Luck!!!! please don't flame me for stating the obvious I am only trying to help.:p

oh I forgot that I am using circular dish with 2 LNB 11250Mhz echostar 110 and 119 diseqc Level 1A/A and Level 1A/B LNB Low (LOF1):11250
(LOF2):11250
(LNBSW):0
and selected NA LEGACY for BAND
