If you get a proper Microsoft MCE remote, you just check it in the remotes section and you have everything mapped out perfectly from the get go. I've only changed three things - Re-map Recorded TV to My Videos, re-map TV-Text to show/hide subtitles and also Mute to take screenshot (I control my audio on my AVR, so not needed in my setup). You can re-map stuff very easily in MePo's remote section.

    Thanks Emph
...but what is a "proper" Microsoft remote.....are we talking brands here?
...Might either of the Maplins offerings I referred to earlier suffice??

The one I linked to is a proper one (I just gone one from the same seller a couple of weeks ago). It should last you for years. And it's very cheap.

You can only change the function of specified buttons in MP built mapping tho, if a cheap remote has non standard mapping the input plugin lets you map the controls mapping to the standard function.

    Thanks AGAIN Emph....but

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/221200188518?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

is priced in US Dollars...and it seems the seller....dacheng2009....doesn't list on EbayUK.
TBH....I would only be ordering direct from China at the very last resort....as I would prefer to buy locally if at all possible!!!

Readin all posts, this is confusing.. what I posted about was the 900 WITH the RF system. If you dont care about an RF system and still want a multiremote that can do more that just control MePo but still simple and cheap do get a Logitech 300i or something like that.
If you dont mind having multiple remotes to control stuff do get any cheap REAL remote.

I have two of the type @emphatic links to but replaced one of them with a Logitech 300i. I simply could not get the power on/off and vol+/- to work with my TV. So I got a 300i and it's working flawless.

Thanks 4Fred........but I'm finding the Logitech to be around £125 here in the UK....which is a total no no as far as I'm concerned!
