The EPG is a puzzle in a puzzle I'm gonna need some help.
What makes it such a puzzle? The post I linked to gives direct links to setup instructions for each option. It's absolutely fine if you need help, but you'll need to be specific about where you're stuck and/or what is wrong.

so far I see you have to pay for SchedulesDirect Plugin
To be clear: the SchedulesDirect plugin is free. The SchedulesDirect data is not. If you choose to use SchedulesDirect then there is a free trial to enable you to see whether it is going to be okay for you. Only after the trial finishes do you have to pay.

However, the other options I listed are all free.

but I can't get it to work.
As much as I want to help, I'm completely unable to assist unless you give me some specific details. Log files would be great.

Is it too much to ask can you grade these from easiest to hardest
Sorry to say it but yes, it is too much to ask me. I don't live in the US or Canada. EPG options for other parts of the world are different. I can't possibly give you a grade on things I've never tried. Other people may be able to advise.

cause it was hard just to get my tuner working.
I don't know why you found it hard (feedback would be appreciated, so we can improve!) but I can say that setting up EPG is not going to be any easier.

very little detail in how to obtain the software needed to get epg to work

To be clear: the SchedulesDirect plugin is free

    for about a week

mc2xml is a dlc file that every time i try to download it my jdowloader try to run it and also when i put jdownloader out of the picture its a dlc file which means it wont run in windows.

Iv downloaded a plug in for every way to get epg and I still no closer to getting it

IMDB + WebEPG plugin. seem like the easy way but it does not show how to get imdb file or a download link to it

    Subnetting a lPv6 is easier

    The software?
Hmmmm, well the XMLTV and WebEPG plugins come with TV Server. You should see them in the "plugins" section of TV Server configuration. Simply enable them and restart the TV service, and you've got them.

The only external software you might need is the SchedulesDirect plugin if you choose the SchedulesDirect option, and mc2xml if you choose the mc2xml + XMLTV option. It seems you already have the SchedulesDirect plugin installed; mc2xml should just be a simple download from here:
    http://mc2xml.hosterbox.net/

Is there something that I'm not understanding, because that doesn't seem so complex (?).

To be clear: the SchedulesDirect plugin is free

The SchedulesDirect plugin for TV Server is developed and maintained by the MediaPortal community. It is and always has been 100% free.
The SchedulesDirect service for the data is nothing to do with us. As far as I know it has always required a paid subscription. Current cost is $25 USD per year with a 7 day free trial. We don't get any of that money.

mc2xml is a dlc file that every time i try to download it my jdowloader try to run it and also when i put jdownloader out of the picture its a dlc file which means it wont run in windows.
    A dlc file?!?
Never heard of such a thing. This makes me wonder if your "jdownloader" (whatever that is - never heard of it either) is causing problems for you.
As above, you can download mc2xml from here:
    http://mc2xml.hosterbox.net/

Make sure you get the version for Windows. Here is a direct link to the exe file:
    http://zap2xml.hol.es/?h=9jb51yi

Iv downloaded a plug in for every way to get epg and I still no closer to getting it
As above: the only downloads I'm aware of are the SD plugin and mc2xml. I have no idea what you're downloading but I suspect it is either the wrong thing or not required.

IMDB + WebEPG plugin. seem like the easy way but it does not show how to get imdb file or a download link to it
Never heard of an imdb file. Do you mean the www_imdb_com file?
If so, the download link is in the wiki.
This guide is written for an updated version of the US www_imdb_com.xml grabber file found in the WebEPG forum. I expect this file will replace the current grabber file. The "new US imdb_com grabber file, adds SubTitle support" posting has an updated copy of the imdb_com grabber file and a text readme file with setup information.

The link in that text points here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...om-grabber-file-adds-subtitle-support.108360/

See the files attached to that post.

The wiki also tells you where that file needs to be put:
You need to customize www_imdb_com with your local tv stations. I make a private copy www_imdb_com_myzipcode.xml in the same folder and modify this file. I use a private copy to keep the original file in case there is a problem. For a Vista/Windows7 system the US www_imdb_com.xml grabber files are in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US

    Is that clear now?

    Subnetting a lPv6 is easier
    If you say so.
Like I said in my last post, any feedback you can provide would help us improve. Unfortunately your comments up until now don't give me anything to go on. If I could offer once piece of advice at this point it would be: pick one method and stick with it. Chopping and changing trying every different method is clearly not working for you, and honestly it is also frustrating for me because it makes it hard to help you.

    Regards,
    mm

You can also select import/export, set the check box for "TV Groups" and export the info to a xml file to get a list of Channel ids in your channel groups. You can open the .xml file with a browser or notepad to copy/paste the Channel ids to your grabber file.

where is the import/export button - is it under the tab on WebEPG

so I copy the url from IMDB to the www_imdb_com grabber where it says

    I enter

    http://www.imdb.com/tvgrid/2014-08-...C32419&start_date=2014-08-31&start_time=2000#

    what about post="" external="false" encoding=""

    Again I'm lost

Also I checked and I don't know how I got it but I have the imbd file or as you say www_imdb_com grabber in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US

    Key word: replace.
The grabber exists. You're using an updated version.

Please create new posts rather than editing so that I get a notification.

    what about post="" external="false" encoding=""
The instructions don't tell you to touch them... so leave them. They should be fine as is.
