This is a fuc..... issue that flashes !!!
Maybe we can try to see what is triggering it and for testing avoid to render something (again for testing) but it will be better if i can reproduce it on my own lol

Many thanks for all the input here. I have not tried everything yet but so far enabling software deint. (YADIF) or enabling "Auto Deint" in Catalyst (I normally use Vector Adaptive) both look better, I will carry out further testing once the football starts up again, since that is where the issue is most noticable and get back later in the week. I did not get a chance to try anything on the Monday evening football disaster:cry: as I was watching it with friends at a public viewing:sick::sick::sick:.

Something I have done in the last week or so (perhaps LAV change) means that I can have DXVA copyback in LAV and still get YADIF deinterlacing. Previously, using DXVA meant DXVA deinterlacing only. For me this is good, I get to keep full HEVC decoding but get really great SD interlaced too :)

    Kenwonders i need some help!

I recently installed 10 x64bit and since i was always using Madvr i didn't pay attention to EVR, recently Sebastiii added an option to use EVR for TV only and while testing it i realised that my rendering graph line (green line on EVR stats graph) is not flat anymore o_O

So i jump to my other disk which has a windows 7 32bit installation to see if i get the same issue there, well there the line is flat and render times are stable.

Can u confirm that on ur setup the green line during EVR is flat?

I actually think i know what is going on :(

I remember that @ Owlsroost was working on an improved version of dshowhelper a couple of years ago and that on windows 7, dshowhelper is getting FPS info from windows Aero for accurate vsync, now since windows 10 doesn't have Aero anymore maybe this is why the green line is never flat?

Really not sure, I don't think the green line 'has' to be flat, the red line was always the one I cared for, which is still flat when I just tried it. The green line for me was stable but shifted regularly, but no noticeable affect on playback.

Not knowledgeable enough about what the graphs mean to be able to help you sorry! You might want to check your config and source material match between the two to confirm, or live with it if there are no ill effects :) Maybe @Sebastiii can be more specific about what is happening?

    Hey :)
For sure the red line should be flat but in overall, i like to have all to flat but i'm not sure if i can really help on this.
Maybe it's the madVR build that cause this ?
I will select EVR and see if TV (50hz for my monitor 50hz) is flat or not.

Well I finally got round to swapping round my graphics cards, so the amd R7-260 is now installed in my HTPC and the HD 6670 is in my desktop. With the HTPC I decided to go back to basics and do a complete video setup starting with the TV in "Computer" mode and RGB 4:4:4 full. In this mode The moire/shimmer and motion issues reported previously are now gone (when playing TV), the colour still does not look too good (everything including desktop) but I'm working on it (TV settings). I have noticed a somewhat out of focus effect on some longer distance shots in everything except HD and so far I have not been able to improve this with any of the edge enhancements in madvr. The addition of the R7-260 did nothing for playback of Elysium (HEVC hardware decoder enabled in LAV), still 100% cpu and jerky, so either I'm doing something wrong or even this much more recent amd card also does not support HEVC:unsure:.
@Kotik earlier I think you suggested I use a version of the Catalyst CC, can you confirm that you were able to use this with your R7, I'm currently using Radeon Crimson version 15.11 with mine but this has very limited settings options available.

    Thank u,

U are right the rendering lines are flat on my gaming PC, i just installed fresh MP there and it is working fine, so something is wrong with my HTPC setup. I need to investigate deeper.

Nope no AMD hardware decoding of HEVC until R9. It's a fairly exclusive club still. From here http://www.techspot.com/article/1131-hevc-h256-enconding-playback/ :
    • Intel 6th-generation ‘Skylake’ Core processors or newer
    • AMD 6th-generation ‘Carizzo’ APUs or newer
    • AMD ‘Fiji’ GPUs (Radeon R9 Fury/Fury X/Nano) or newer
    • Nvidia GM206 GPUs (GeForce GTX 960/950) or newer
    • Other Nvidia GeForce GTX 900 series GPUs have partial HEVC hardware decoding support
    • Qualcomm Snapdragon 805/615/410/208 SoCs or newer. Support ranges from 720p decoding on low-end parts to 4K playback on high-end parts.
    • Nvidia Tegra X1 SoCs or newer
    • Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5430 SoCs or newer
    • Apple A8 SoCs or newer
    • Some MediaTek SoCs from mid-2014 onwards
