without fullscreen exclusive mode it switches now.. but on TV still allways 50Hz default...

Ok,

madVR refresh rate switching is working as following:



You have to first inform madVR of the refresh rates and resolutions ur TV does support. This means that if ur TV supports all the standard resolutions and refresh rates then ur config in madVR should look as following:

1080p23, 1080p24, 1080p50, 1080p60, 2160p23, 2160p24, 2160p50, 2160p60

U can also add 1080p25 and 2160p25 i skipped both cause i force 50Hz for 25fps material.

Also note that i got 23fps and 24fps as separate entries, this is cause 23 is the actual refresh rate for 23.976 and 24 is for 24.000

i want only output as 2160p because upscaling..

Ok then only add refresh rates for 2160p. If u add 1080p resolutions then upscaling is done on ur TV if u dont add them then upscaling is done on the HTPC video renderer (madVR in ur case).

Hmmm i recognized that upscaling to 4K wasn`t really working for me when 3D MVC mkv's are played... there is no 3D anymore after madvr scaled to 4k but i don`t know if that was normal?! Maybe just my fault in one of the settings..

Just quoting myself... for anyone that is interested. Besides that my upgrade to a 4K AVR crashed my complete setup i found out that upscaling 3D to 4K is not possible/makes no sense (except the TV does it with the final picture) cause no GPU is able to pass framepacked 3D in 4K at the moment... at least thats what Madshi commented in the Doom forum

My issue right now is:

GTX 970 (latest driver) for WIN10 64 bit
AVR Denon 6200
LG 4k TV
madvr latest version

I am able to play framepacked 3D files if i enable stereo 3D in the nvidia control panel so far so good but as soon as a 2D file is played and i try to play a 3D file again afterwards, madvr is not able to activate/trigger 3d mode again.

What i recognized is that enabling and disabling the "stereo switch" using the nvidia control panel also activates the windows 3D switch but
activating/deactivating the windows switch does not activate the nvidia switch...thats the issue as it seems.
Madvr seems to trigger the windows switch is that correct? And thus is not able to activate the nvidia switch as well.

Settings in madvr are/seem to be correct as it is working one time and it was working before as well...

On my side MadVr activates Windows 3D mode but I need to move the mouse before actually get 3D image. Try it.
If you set madvr exclusive mode, then it should go 3D directly.

Try. But up to now, no body has comply about Windows 3D activation. It should work.
Try MPC-HC if works in your setup

It was running without the mouse issue prior.(using exclusive mode) I had to reinstall the drivers in order to get the mess with my new Denon cleaned up... and it is running once still.
But as soon as i play a 2D file the 3D option in the nvidia control panel is unticked and never gets ticked again automatically (while the windows 3D switch is set to enabled automatically).
Anyhow i will get a new Gigabyte 1080 tomorrow and will have to reinstall the drivers then anyway so i will report back as soon as this is done.

All of my tests where done with MPC-HC .. as it was working the same way as MP for me but faster for testing purposes

Btw. i my AVR issue turned out to be a TV issue in the end as i head to turn the TV into PC mode to recognize the htpc behind the AVR correctly and to get a correct picture right from the post of the HTPC (without PC mode enabled the picture was not correctly resized while booting up) - this might have been part of the issue as well but i didn`t do any further testing cause of the new GPU is arriving

Always in vacation but not for too long (be back sunday night before work monday) but i have my laptop, so trying to fix MP on it (Intel GPU lol).
