[WiP] madVR support in MP1 (44 Viewers)

I just wanted to give a short feedback on what i recognized yesterday (v168):

• Windows scaling still breaks 3D/
• 2D not tested
• I have had a blackscreen whenever i stopped the movie, MP is still running in the background, exiting MP brings back the picture

Will try the new version today

DDU is a great tool, i used it quite often during the last weeks.
You might have to stop your antivirus, DDU might be recognized as malware (Kaspersky for example deleted the files)

A nice hint: With aniversary update i gaint the 23hz, 24hz, 25hz and can now choose and switch to it, without any crashes. In beginning of installing of the new gpu i had some problems on swtiching resolution. I used www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html to cleanup the drivers in safe mode. As said in private chat joecrow, i hope this will help you maybe.

Thanks for that it is a very nice tool, I particularly like the uninstall drivers and shutdown option and the fact that it suppresses Windows from attempting to install drivers. Sadly though it did not help me at all, I have now gone back to my old GPU and can change refresh rates without any problem. I then decided to double check the new GPU in my Desktop PC and it failed going from 50-60hz on first attempt, but after the reboot damm not a single failure. There are a very limited number of possible refresh rates with the Desktop monitor but even so, just not quite enough evidence yet to be sure about sending it back. Will be back on track testing (with my old GPU, shortly.

With v169 I'm still seeing black screens (Alt+Enter shows it up in the top right, clicking on it brings it to fullscreen) playing 1270x720 and some other sizes also, in TVS, full HD and TV size seems OK. OV is hanging again very quickly, have to kill MP in Task Manager. 2 OV hangs in attached log plus it covers the TVS testing. Madvr freeze report is for the 2nd OV failure.

Are you able to test V168 version BIN1 to 4 ?

It deadlock on mediactrl stop in both freeze (and the call is done on C++) so either C# or C++, it seems to failed
But in v169, the stop is call on C++ side but from madVR thread instead of MP main thread for v168.

So if you can try again on V168 and with bin1 to 4 to compare

Edit : I'm wrong, the stop call is done on MP main thread, it's madVR repeat frame that is done on madVR thread, but still it will be good to test v168 again

P.S. My new GPU just needed to warm up a bit and then failed regularly in my Desktop PC as in the HTPC. Will have to return it, not sure whether to go with Gigabyte again, I like their Mobos but this is the first GPU I've tried from them, maybe go back to MSI or Sapphire.

I have tested v168 with all the bins with the following results:-
All played TV (regular and HD) OK
All played 3D OK.
All except Bin-4 played HD from Mov. Pic. (Blackscreen with Bin 4))
All started with blackscreen with 720 except Bin2 which played everything .
All intermittently hung up MP playing OV.

All videos were played from the start with Madvr Rendering settings as per the attached screenshot. I have attached logs and freeze reports for each Bin. Each log was cleared before starting the test and the freeze report was taken on the OV hang.

black start

tvs starts right

bin3:
black start

bin3+bin4core:
black start

bin2+bin4core:
same as with bin2 tvs start ok
movpic all seems ok

bin1+bin4core:
black start -no change

tried all on videos too - always starting right
the only problem remains here with tvs - i cant go back to the series selection sceen. had to do it blind again until the homescreen is reached and displayed.

i'm gonna try bin2 with 3d, tv and so on
fingers crossed^^

3d edit:
v168 bin2 + bin4 core
3d still kinda works here (without the forced window option). but it takes ages to switch back 2d, like 10 sec or so three times longer than before
if i hadn't waited long enough, i get easily a nice deadlook blackscreen with maderror mediaportal.exe... - see 3d.zip

Just tested v169 in regards to dpi scaling... still not working at least not for 3D. Movies will show in 2D only while TV is switched to 3D.
