Do you think, i can setup Mariadb alongside MySQL ?
by renaming the service name during setup.

No. Not the service name is the issue, the used port is. Default MySQL, MariaDB and MP are using port 3306. So you either need to set MySQL or MariaDB to not use the default port 3306. Or you stop MySQL server before installing MariaDB and after the test stop MariaDB and start MySQL again...

yep for the port, but the service name must be different for error during setup i think.
i will try to transfer MysqL DB to MariaDB. i hope it will work.

So it's confirmed that MP1 TV Server can run with MySQL, MSSQL and MariaDB...

using import on empty DB, don't worked.
You need to add the "Create Table" commands to the SQL dump. But this must be done while you've export the data. If not there are no tables to write the data in

I enable this function for making dump but without succes on mariadb side during import.
I think mariadb is small in ressource needed, only 68 mo on memory and 0% of cpu when idle.

    Hello @lemhden
Do you think, the last mariadb (10.3) can work with mp1?

    Hi.
Do you think, the last mariadb (10.3) can work with mp1?
I can't test as I a) don't use MP1 and b) my MariaDB server runs on a Banana Pi where the most recent available version of MariaDB is 10.0.32

Also I can't test, I'm pretty sure it works. My experience with MariaDB are very good, much better than with MySQL So in general I would suggest to change MP1 database to MariaDB in one of the next releases... Aside it is running better (more reliable and stable, less resources needed) it is real Open Source and for this it fits MP the better than the commercial (also it's free to use it is commercial) MySQL

I've used MySQL on the not very powerful Banana Pi Mark 1 (ARM V7 Dual Core 1 GHz) before and it eats around 5% CPU even when idle. MariaDB takes less than 1% of the same CPU on the same device with the same OS (ARMbian 5.38).

i use myself mariaDB after your recomendation, i use the 10.2 serie, based on MySQL 56
the version mySQL 57 don't work with MP TVE, so i think the version 10.3 will not work too as based on MySQL 57.
