I vote for small fonts since I have very good eyes :p And I feel sorry for the other :)
With a viewingdistance of 5-6m on a 32"TV, even you will need binoculars for skins with small fonts. :p

Are you suggesting that we make a fundraising event to buy you a new 65" TV?

    :D

Well, the font-size vs. screen real-estate will never satisfy all of us. We just need to find the best compromise here, it will probably come down to a "normal fontsize" and "bigger fontsize" button in the setup.

Hey, I may even make it possible to change it from the Configuration :)

Regarding the screenshots, they are a 99% correct representation of the working skin, only a few small changes are needed in order to get it 100%.

So, let's all head on over to the Development > Submit patches section and start accepting patches ;)
My post was a general statement about fontsizes in GUI Design, and not mainly about this skin here. :)

Ofc. you can never make everyone happy.
But you can see GUI's of STB's where the fontsizes is so small, that you can not even read it properly from 2m viewing distance on a 32" LCD.
This is where i am wondering what the designers had in mind when they created it. :)

Some guidance for the font size: Text Size . With few additional calculations it should be quite quick to calculate the preferred, smallest font size "Preferred is 20-22 arcminutes.". (pixel size is required, but it is easy to get from the resolution and screen dimensions).

I don't worry as long as you calculate it for something between 100" and 120" screen size :)

This is looking great, is this anywhere near complete yet as i dont want to spend time editing another skin to suit my needs when this is almost there anyway.

    Good job :D

I don't know how many plugins you are going to support by default, but could you make these work:
    - MovingPictures 0.8
    - Online Videos
    - My Trailers
    - Youtube.fm (watch music vidoes form youtube)
    - HTPCInfo ( Show htpc stats)
    - SleepControl (To shutdown in time)
    - My lyrics (get lyrics for you music collection)
    - Global Music Search (searches your entire music collection)

    And of cause latest version.
And maybe you could add it to google.code, esier to bugreport/feature req. :)
    Thank you :)

From the pictures, this looks to be a 1366x768 skin. Is that correct? I hoped it would be a true 16:9 skin (since I thought it was built from B3).

skin seems to use 1366x768 atm.
while this is no issue for me personally (since my HTPC's run at 1080p), i would still suggest to not to use that resolution since it this will cause more or less serious gui issues on systems which run at 1280x720 (720p).
and it does not have any real benefit compared to use 1280x720 as base.

so its up to every skindesigner what he aims to do. :)

1366 : 768 was only used by the tv-manufactuers because they could not build 1080p displays at that time, and they had to build something "better" than 720p displays.
but dont be fooled. this res is no HD standard.
