is it an 1366*768 skin like the screenshots? Why didn´t you stick to a standard HDTV resolution (1280*720 or fullHD)? But anyway it will scale to fullHD perfectly for sure. Cannot wait for the release!

    No it will not.

Skins designed for 1366*768 will not scale 100% properly to 720p nor 1080p.
There will always be slight distortions, and allignment issues - but those are not that easy to spot, so not a biggy (at least for resolutions larger than 1366*768 - with 720p you do have very visible issues especially in animations where the startingpoint will be offset.) . ;)

I am sure there will be a full hd skin from our team sometime. Dont know if it will be before MPII though ;) or even if it will be Maya. :D

You know, the easiest way is to design a skin for 1280x720, since then you should not have any issues on 16:9 displays with any larger resolution.
But this was allready discussed, and all i can say is that Maya looks pretty good at 1080p as well. ;)

Yes, best resolution for skins is 720p or 1080.
If you use 720p (1280 , 720) it fits perfekt to
all actual flat tv's. Upscaling to 1080 will also fit perfekt.
The good thing with design skin to 720p is that the gfx are not so big, so mp will run smooth
    also on lower systems.
If you use resolutions like 1366 , 768 you will have problems with displaying
on hd tv's, by showing wrong aspectratios, cutting backgrounds and doing wrong animations.
Also big problems you will have with that rsolution on Tube 16:9 Tvs.

I have seen all the problems by doing the xface skin, so i came across todo my new skin fidelity
in the right resolution for mp, 720p, like i have do it also for default skin blue3wide.

    Greetings Harley

Re: Maya: A simple skin ***UPDATE 10-01-10***

Maybe it is not too late to switch the project to 1280*720 or 1920*1080, as experienced skin developers here strongly recommend? I have some photoshop and skinning experience, I know, you would have to start again from scratch....

The MePo Survey from 2008 shows that most people use these standard HD resolutions (20% 1280*720, 31% 1920*1080) and only 15% 1366*768 px. And the trend goes to full-hd definitely, so the numbers in 2010 could be even more against 1366*768. Your great efforts would have bigger success among end-users with a standard res.

Of course the resolution is your decision, and we respect it but personally I would prefer the 1280x720.

    best regards and :D

    Hi,

Why don't we see if there are actual problems with Maya on 1280 x 720 first?

It's looking great, but there is no substitute for extensive testing on a range of systems!

    Best wishes,

    Mark
