i dont know if these have been already mentioned in the past but, a couple of things i have noticed about the skin that dont feel right are:

a) if you check the imdb information of a movie the information is not displayed on the full screen but on only 3/4 of it. Dont know if this is normal but if it is, then it dosent look good at least on my 1080i resolution panel.

b) while watching a movie and you have already imdb the selected movie and press info button on mce rc then the imdb info that is displayed is the last movie that you imdb and not the imdb info of the specific movie you are watching at the moment.

c) the font of the myTVSeries plot is too small.

Other than that the new mce1280x720 looks great on my 1080i panel.

Thanks for the good work.

    I'm pretty sure i know what you are referring to, and i'm thinking of the right thing, it's intentional. The left side in every screen is left for navigation. if its black on the other 1/4 of the screen, i may not be thinking of the same thing. I'll take a look at it, but if you can post a screen shot, that would help me out a lot.

    This is probably an mp problem, i don't know of any tag i can add to show in name of the previous movie. We are really only restricted to showing the current status of things. This skin is only meant for mp .2.0.4, so if you are using an svn version that may cause an error, altho not necessarily this one.

    I'll take a look at it.

    thanks very much for your replies Boilermaker.

    i guess you are correct there, its the reserved 1/4 of the navigation pane as its not black. So i guess that's how its suppose to be.
    Anyway here is a screenshot how it looks.

    i am using mp 2.0.4 no svn install. and it dosent happen with other skins. Just checked with mce original version and this dosent happen with the mce skin.

    I'll take a look at it.
    Also something that i have forget to mention before. Usually on other skins using myTVSeries you have a Series Banner on the top, but on mce1280x720 its not there. Don't know if that's how it suppose to be or if that's a bug. You might want to have a look at it. If you want a screenshot of it let me know and i will provide one with the banner on top and one without it.

    here is a screenshot of how it looks when you click on IMDB info of a movie. Notice the 1/4 empty screen on the left side.

    First image is MCE1280x720
    Second image is normal MCE

    That's intentional, the left side of the screen is reserved for navigation. It came up a couple of pages back...short summary is that consistency is important for a handful of reasons. I may at some point change it, but it probably wouldn't be until a next full release. There are a handful of pages i would have to redo and then test.

    Would you mind posting a picture of mytvseries? I didn't see any type of banner in blue two, but i wasn't able to use the plugin because i have no saved/scheduled tvseries on my htpc. I tried to work around it, but without really having any files it gave me a configuration error in the setup program. I can see controls in the xml of regular blue two that aren't in the xml for this skin, being able to see working will help me add them.

    Also when i checked the html code in the skin, all the controls have no font defined...which means they use the same exact font as they would in many other places in the skin (ie lists have and text boxes have 12 pt font in this page and in ). I can tell from a screen shot if the text box font needs to be larger.

    thanks for the answer.

    Ok blue Two1280x720 looks exactly the same on myTVSeries plugin as MCE1280x720. But other 4:3 skins like the normal Blue Two they look like the first screenshot that i have attached.
    And the 16:9 skins i.e. like Reality look like the second sreenshot that i have attached.
    I think the banner is supposed to be located on the top and span on the whole resolution width. Also as you can see on the regular Blue Two the plot is below the Banner and on top of your series database. To be honest i prefer it as it is with the blue two 1280X720 and the mce1280x720. That is the plot on the buttom. Its far better like that but if you can get the banner to show on top it will be great. I dont know if this of any help, but if you can set the banner to show on top and set the width to 720 and the height to 120 or maybe 140.

    About the font yes i checked the blue two 1280x720 and its the same. I think the fonts in myTVSeries look very small because of my tv resolution which is 1920x1080. If i set my TV res on 1280x720 the fonts look just fine. U got any tips or ideas if i can fix that font thing?

    Thanks again Boilermaker for your help.

    If you feel comfortable editing the xml, you can change the font yourself. Look for a line near the bottom of the file that looks like this:
    <type>textboxscrollup</type>

    just below it, add this:
    <font>font14</font>

    That will change it to a 14 point font.

    Thanks for the screen shots, i now know what i've been missing. I've never seen those screens since i can't get mytvseries to work..but i think i'm going to have to get it running to skin it. Once i do, it should be no problem. Major changes in the svn seemed to have slowed down, so i won't have as much to keep up with. if that's the case i'll be able to work on this and the info screens this week.

    ok i played a bit around with the tvseries.xml file and manage to get the fonts bigger for a 1280x720 and 1920x1080 resolutions. I also managed to include the TVSeries banner on top if anyone is interested in having that banner there look screenshot how it looks on my 1080i panel (same looks on a 720p panel).

    if you like the screenshot then locate your tvseries.xml file located on C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Skin\mce1280x720 edit with a text editor (i.e. notepad) and replace the entire contet with the one below. Please backup your file before doing so in case you dont like it then you can easily revert back to the original version.

    Code:
    <window>
      	<id>0</id>
      	<defaultcontrol>0</defaultcontrol>
      	<allowoverlay>yes</allowoverlay>
    	<define>#header.label:MyTV Series</define>
    	<define>#header.text:television</define>
    	<define>#header.hover:hover_my tv.png</define>
        <controls>
    	<import>common.window.default.xml</import>

    Boilermaker any ideas how i can make my own Basic Home Screen? Which xml files do i need to edit in order to get different menu buttons on the Basic Home Screen? And where are the images of the Basic Home Screen? Any idea where this is documented so i can have a look at?

    Thanks

    Code:
    	<control>
    		<description>home BM Radio</description>
    		<type>button</type>
    		<id>2</id>
    		<posX>150</posX>
    		<posY>300</posY>
    		<width>-</width>
    		<height>-</height>
    		<textureFocus>BM_Radio_focus.png</textureFocus>
    		<textureNoFocus>BM_Radio_nofocus.png</textureNoFocus>
    		 <thumbZoom>yes</thumbZoom>
    		<hyperlink>30</hyperlink>
    		<label>665</label>
      		<textcolor>00ffffff</textcolor>
    		<onleft>5</onleft>

    		<onup>10</onup>
    		<ondown>10</ondown>
    	</control>
    I'm guessing you want to be able to jump to different screens rather than what's available now (for example replacing radio with tetris)?

    The hyperlink tag tells mp which screen to jump to, it corresponds to the value of the id tag at the top of every xml file. myradio.xml has an id value of 30 (second line of the file), so when you click the button, that's where it takes you. You just place the target .xml's id value in the hyperlink tag.

    You will probably have to do your own icons for the actual buttons, i believe i borrowed the ones in this skin from another skin. This only requires two graphics for each button (textureFocus, textureNoFocus), unless you want to go full out. You can use an animation, see bluetwo1280x720 for an example.

    I've never tried to change the number of buttons. Judging by recent screen shots posted of the aqua skin, it is possible to do so. The one thing to keep in mind is the onleft and onright tags, and making sure each button is accessible via remote/keyboard. These tags tell mp where to go next when a directional key is pressed.

    that's a short explanation, hopefully it gets you started. If you have any specific questions, let me know. I'd be more than happy to give you a hand.
