Hi there,

I noticed this thread this morning , don´t know where it was hidden!? - and my Interesed fires up.
I have a Silverstone LC10M Chasis with the iMon VFD (pluged via USB) , so is there a chance to get it work?
A friend of mine has the case , too and uses MCE and doesn´t have to switch to plugin-Mode. MCE calls the display in normal Mode.
So can anyone confirm ( I know many iMon - users are here) or is Joe still working on it. Some things confuesing me.

Yeah , I knew this allready.
I only want to know , if it could work the way I asked for - so I wouldn´t have to go into Plugin-Mode - that was my demand.

If it works in MCE it should work (more or less) with this plugin too.
But be advised that there are still a lot of problems with this plugin.

It suffers from the downsides of both MCE and MediaPortal:
    1. The information that MCE sends to the display is much less than what is available in MP.
    2. Some of the info that MCE does send is not available in MP (channel numbers for example). That is why the current version of this plugin is always showing channel number 1 in TV.

Besides that, the plugin is not really finnished yet. Not all screens in MP are supported. The main problem is that MP and MCE work totally different internally (at least regarding display communication) and this makes it very hard for me to get everything to work.

That is why most of my time atm is invested in the MP internals to make future releases of this (and my other) plugin easier...

    THX Joe.
I´m really looking forward - just using your other plugin and was deeply impressed. I´m running MP 0.2.1 with new SVN , which version of your plugin should I use?

Hi joe - I got it working with the iMon VFD and ....... I´m deeply impressed.
Hope to see in the future that scrolling in the music menu gives information / output , too. At the moment only playing songs will be displayed and always with 1/1 on the VFD which is wrong. But it all keeps very promissing!

Rock on Joe and Ma Dalton would be very happy!!!

    Great start!

Not sure why it took me so long to find this thread - this is exactly what I needed for my VL LIS MCE display. I can finally have it display what's on.

Is this still under development? It seems to (mostly) work under 0.2.2, but after a while it starts showing what'll be on in an hour, or two hours...I have to change the change and back to get it back to the current program.

Is 0.2.2 better for supplying the information you need?

    Looking forward to an update...

See post #55 for the current status. We are still working hard on the MP internals to make future versions of this plugin easier...

    Hello,

I also want my LCD going. I have a Alienware DHS2/Paradigit Enjoy 2005 system with an Intel motherboard with an Intel front panel. It's connected directly to the board.

I installed MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 (stable) and the last plugin release at this topic and it doesn't work. In MCE2005 my LCD works.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Edit: the logfile displays:
    2007-01-31 18:53:19.171875 [Info.][7]: MCEDisplay: Going to sleep...
    2007-01-31 18:53:20.171875 [Info.][7]: MCEDisplay: MCEDisplay is awake...

But nothing on de LCD, just the Time and Date
