I had to replace my NAS and after reinstalling a new one i thought.
Lets modify the Media Source.
- However that did not work "if" i get in the edit screen it looks strange and i cannot actual edit it (Could be a resolution issue)
MediaSource.jpg

Clicking the edit just goes back.

Well i found out, that MePo did not like my "empty" username and password.
Even if the SMB share should be working without any just by using the "Workgroup"
I was able to remove the shares now. However when i try to add a new one.

Then i tried to add a new one, to the UNC path of the new server, but the only thing i can see is :

Anybody who has a suggestions?

And yes will collect the log files a bit later.

    Hi,

I need a few more infos.

Which version of MP2 are you using? I recommend to install the latest version 2.5 as NET4 version.
How long are you waiting for the busy spinner?
Have you tried another skin? I recommend Nereus as new default skin.

    I installed 2.5 with Mosaic.
i tried to let I spin for 10 min..
And i tried Nereus, no difference.
So i will prepare the logs later today.

And just for the fun of it, i tried to start MediaPortal 2 (x64), that does not show any interface..
And im pretty sure thats something compleatly different :)

Tried to edit media source 2 times did not work
Tried to add a new source, and waited from 5:18 -> 15:28
    Just the spinning thing.

Funny thing... It seems that im able to add the network source by manually entering the UNC path..
Not that it will show the importer % but might be due to my selected resolution of: 1920 x 1080

The logs are in info level, debug level would be need so have a full view. I can see several errors, but not related to the mentioned issue.
Was thre any windows update in between? I had once the issue, that a windows update removed a smb protocol, so MP2 could not find the share anymore in tree view. Readding it resolved it.
How to detect, enable and disable SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 in Windows

You could also try once a MP2 repair installation, it takes just a few minutes and all settings are kept.

It explaines how to check if smb is activated and how to activate it. As mentioned in my case it was once the reason why no share was shown.
You can also google for "activate SMB in windows 10/11" and will find many easy straight forward manuals.

Well i did check if SMB was activated on my windows 10.
It was not, i enabled the feature.
I tried to add a new network location, and it did not work still only the spinning thingi.
I now uninstalled MePo2, delete the data and try a new install.

And i believe the 2 next things are something i should "just" ignore and accept :)
Why is windows able to see the UNC path and access the NAS, but MePo not?
Why when i added it in local drives, it was able to find file, however they never showed up in Music.
Tried to look in the DB however nothing was there, but it could have been the old version of MePo still there (why i wanted a clean install)

    Uninstall MePo, delete data.
Tried to add Network neighborhood again, and nothing..
    Waited 2min.
    Debug enabled logs...
Funny thing, MePo does see the machines on my network.
    However not my NAS.

    Deleted MePo 2.5
Installed 2.41, and it was able to find my machines on the network (except the NAS)
And it did show me a list of machines.

Also when i added my music folder the Audio informations are populated.
I added it by manualy writing the UNC Path.
