How are you guys handling the whole directshow versus media foundation? Or have you though about it yet?

MediaFoundation still lacks codecs etc. So at the first step MPII will be DS based, but as it is modular design it will be possible for someone later (to provide a patch ) that allows media foundation based players.

This is great news, I'm really exited to see MP2 taking off.
I would love to see a forum section for MP2, to throw some suggestions, For example, I would love to see a firefox like plugin system, that lets you auto update to the latest version of MP and the installed plugins.

Good luck, and cant wait to check out MP2 v0.1 that should come out soon.

More than happy with mediaportal 1!!! I have seen and checked out Mediaportal 2 and this looks very promising! Nice animations and stuff. Looks as slick as mediacenter but is/will be much better then MCE!


I have to wait, so I am looking forward a year!

Excellent work guys, always good to get updates on development work. I look forward to 1.1 and then seeing what MP2 is capable of

I am also interested to know if I could have my stable MP1 in parallel with MP2 test builds.

nope.

there is no real roadmap to the next release yet.

That's bad news to hear we won't be able to 'patch 1.0.x' to 1.1.0 I don't know if I can be bothered doing a complete reinstall
