Re: AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

I've seen that there were some recent changes to the dshowhelper in the trunk - but not in the audio renderer part. Is this correct?

I've recently updated the 'Accurate_sync' dshowhelper code to keep it in sync with the FFWD/REW updates to the MP trunk version. There are no audio related changes to the dshowhelper code.

After several tests I can say that MP Audio renderer works fine even with Xonar. Last fix about HWBasedRefClock is awesome.
(WASAPIUseEventMode not work of course yet due driver lack).
Reclock is now inside a box in the cellar :D

Thank a lot to all developers.

AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

Actually I would write that all is working well ^^
But lately I had a A/V sync problem.

I'm using 1.1.2 with latest audiorenderer.

Video with 29.970 fps, refreshratechanger set 60Hz.

After some (~10min) time the video is ~2s to late.
Pausing or skipping the video: sync again for some time

    I hadn't noticed the problem with 25, 50 or 24fps.

Perhaps the problem is nothing new on my system, but i have not much files with 29.970 fps, so maybe i didn't noticed it befor.

Re: AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

Actually I would write that all is working well ^^
But lately I had a A/V sync problem.

I'm using 1.1.2 with latest audiorenderer.

Video with 29.970 fps, refreshratechanger set 60Hz.

After some (~10min) time the video is ~2s to late.

I'm a bit worried for few different things:

    • Bias is reported as 1,000497797 where as I calculated it to be 1,001001001 (60 / 59.94) - and that would be only 0,3 seconds of after 10 minute playback time
    • No one else has reported the issue
    • issue is happening with only specific fps vs Hz

Pausing or skipping the video: sync again for some time

Normal behavior for the drifting, since resync will be done when resuming the playback.

    I hadn't noticed the problem with 25, 50 or 24fps.

Could you upload a sample file? I have no long running 29.97 fps clips so I cannot try to reproduce the issue.

Ok, I will upload the video file.
    It's an ~25min anime episode.

Any steps which i should try to look in to the problem?

Later i'm on a christmas market. So it can be late evening... ;)

Hm, i haven't taken the exact time, but it's definetly more than some ms.
Should i try to stop it more exactly?

Actually it is 59.970018 / 59.94 = 1,0005008008... (measured RR is not 60 Hz) which is much closer but still there is a difference (~3ppm)

Also odd is that actual fps shows 23.960139

My bad, didn't check the actual information close enough :)

Actually I think where this comes from. I have heard some "rumors" that some anime clips have 23.976 and 29.97 content in the same file (person who created such file should be punished hard). Maybe this is the case here? Or video decoder could be providing wrong fps info as well. Both would be causing drinfting, althou the 29.97 / 23.976 would be causing approx 1 second dirfting in 4 second playback...

AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

Sorry too ask, but i´m a little bit confused about the usage.

I installed the audio-render and choose this for Video/TV

It seems that is working, but i can´t set the volume with my remote. In the first post was an hint for this, but is there any trick
to use this new audiorender + working volume-controll ?

Volume control is not working with WASAPI exclusive mode since it bypasses the OS audio mixer.

You have to use the volume control on your amp/tv.

Is there a way to fix that problem with this video or is simply the video "trash"?
Would it be a solution to set 24Hz as fps in the mkv container?
