better with version 15. The multplier is very much closed to value 1 but It's still erratic.
Anyway the audio delay less than before but delay.

That doesn't look good at all. Audio HW's clock jumps constantly backwards and that causes the A/V sync drifting code to reset all the time -> A/V sync drifting would be happening since it cannot be corrected.

Just hoping that ASUS engineers haven't get paid for writing such code... I guess it is again a time for some not so nice workaround since we cannot rely on the audio clock at all.

Using V14 atm, and working fine with video's, but when i use it with LiveTV, when switching from a HD channel with stereo; to HD channel with Dolby(5.1); nothing happens, when i change back to my normal output (SPDIF) all is working fine..

Logs? Also a TS recording that can be used to reproduce the issue under My Videos would help a lot.

    Here are the logs.
    Zapping from a 2.0 channel,SD to a 5.1,HD channel.
When zapping from the 2.0 to 5.1 channel mp does nothing (only works if i stop the timeshift; and retry directly on the 5.1 channel) ; when using directsound everything works fine.
    Using V15

Audio delay itself was not changed in any way, only the drifting piling up during a long timespan is affected.

How about the juddering with the HW based clock enabled? Is it still happening with Xonar? The stability for the multiplier comes from the fact that now the audio HW clock is not directly used for it, but instead it has some calculations inbetween so those are smoothing out the abnormalities that drivers / HW would be providing.

Red line is quite flat. Sometimes with huge peek.

Seems that TsReader gets stuck in an infinite loop for seeking for some reason. No clue how such could be happening or what in the audio renderer could trigger it.

Could you do the following so I can debug the issue localy:

    1) stop tv service & MP
    2) delete all TS buffer files
    3) start tv service and MP
    4) tune to the channel with 2.0 audio - wait 15 seconds
    5) tune to the channel with 5.1 audio - wait 15 seconds
    6) open task manager and kill tv service process
    7) copy the TS buffer file to a safe place (and start the tv service so PM wont nag about the missing connection...)
    8) test that you can reproduce the issue with my videos by playing the TS buffer
    9) upload the TS buffer file to FTP

Ok made a TS file, and uploaded it to FTP: (mpaudiov15_zap_20_51.ts).
What i noticed; when i killed the tvservice.exe; suddenly mediaportal shows the video, but audio is silent (and still on 2.0). > attached new logs; when that happend.

But what i also found out: when i start with a 5.1 channel; and zap back and forth to a 2.0 etc.; all works fine, also attached logs of that.

    Hope this helps.

p.s. i couldn't play the TS file under my videos; only sound.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the issue at all. TS file plays niecly under the MP with MP audio renderer and the 2.0 to 5.1 stream type change works without any issues.

What ffdshow version you are using? I tested with 3556 Sep 2 2010.

AW: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

    I think I found a problem:
If I switch to a TV channel that contains AC3 the Audio renderer does not work for me. Tested with Cyberlink, DScaler and FFDshow Audio decoder. As long the TV channels uses MPEG2 Audio the renderer works.

If you want to make a quick test: Just switch to Anixe HD on Astra 19.2. This channel only airs with AC3. I set up Mediaportal to use MPEG2 Audio in the first place.

No DVB-S here, so please create a TS file that can be used to reproduce the issue. Instructions can be found few posts back.

Few oddities in the log are:

Audio decoder wont provide correct information about the bitdepth.

    24-10-2010 21:45:05.784 [ 4cc] wBitsPerSample 0

Audio drivers wont accept 32 bit samples.

    24-10-2010 21:44:53.089 [ 4cc] wBitsPerSample 32
    24-10-2010 21:44:53.092 [ 4cc] WASAPIRenderer::CheckMediaType WASAPI client refused the format: (0x88890008)

Would be worth testing with ffdshow audio decoder if it helps to limit the output to 16 / 24 bits and to use channel mixer to always output 5.1.

Still getting a lot of stutters on Live TV (SD & HD), playback of recorded programs is ok tho. I'm using PDVD 10 Coded with the latest MP Audio Renderer. I've attached a pic of the Shift=1 graph which shows the red line going bonkers when it stutters...

    tvstutter.jpg

Any ideas what else I can look into to solve this problem?

What do the lines on the graph represent, which may help to narrow down my problem?

    Thanks guys.
