Good Morning,

yesterday I "installes" the latest version. Sadly I had the same problem as before. With some TV channels (RTL, Pro7) the picture ist stuttering after ca. 5 minutes. It's looking like slow motion. If i jump 15 sec. back every thing ist ok and the TV is playing smooth. Do you have any tip for me or do you need any log files?

Try some other codec thatn the MS H.264 video decoder - if that is used. It is not be behaving nicely with the audio renderer / EVR presenter. It is reporting false frame rates about the clip itself to overcome some performance issues (like dropping speed to 15fps on 25 fps material for example). Currently I have no idea how to try to workaround such nasty issue.

I use PowerDVD10 codecs. I installed SAF but now it ist uninstalled. Could the old installation of saf make such problems? I read something like that in the forum.

I doubt, please provide logs and full system information.

If those are up to date then logs only are needed.

here are the logs. I watched RTL then changed to pro7. After a while I had the stuttering (fps ist going up an down ). I went back (5 sec) and everything was ok.

I've done some investigations with my ION into the stuttering I'm seeing and produced a few logfiles with extra logging enabled in the dshowhelper v0.0.40 and the results were quite interesting. It appears that my single core is not quite up to using the Audio renderer and helper together while they are both set to run as time critical. Saying that neither of the virtual cores reached 100% during the run with one at 60% and the other about 30%. I'll try again with hyperthreading disabled and see if that makes a difference. Robyf's dual core ION obviously has the capability to do this where the single core doesn't.

The logs are set to log delays and latefr (with the exception of the Late frame (present) line which got a bit log happy with Audio Renderer enabled). Anyway the cause of the occasional stuttering appears to be the code section after "//De-sensitise frame dropping to avoid occasional delay glitches triggering frame drops" which I think is presenting the frame slightly too late (WARNING I am not confident about that as I don't understand the code completely yet as a few hours isn't enough time to figure it out). I also allowed the dropping log when not showing the stats.

I'll keep poking at it and see how it goes as according to the CPU stats it should be possible to get it working (assuming that the two crtitical threads aren't interfering with each other).
