Soooooooo...... I'm not a C programmer but if I minimise to the taskbar, this shouldn't happen? Feel way out of my depth now ;-)

Yep :) if it's minimize, it should stay minimize, but i remember that on resume MP can be locked and wasn't able to response.
I didn't try to reproduce your issue.

    So to confirm :

Before going to standby, you reduce MP -> then standby
Your resume your htpc -> MP is opened like if you didn't reduce it right ?

    Thanks :)

Could you start watchdog log (first option) and reproduce your issue and attach your logs ?
    :p

Ok it seems that was the addon in : private void OnResumeSuspend() (Mediaportal.cs) that restore MP on resume (in fullscreen).
I can create a branch based on Master (1.17 Final) for you to test :p

That's done it! It's now working entirely as I would hope.

I am, frankly, stunned by your positive reaction to a query from a first-time poster. Many, many thanks.

I don't suppose this could go into the main development path, could it? :)

    I didn't remember :(
    This should be testable. :)
    1. Close MP.
    2. Open MP config and enable General -> Startup/Resume Settings -> "minimize to tray on GUI exit".
    3. Close MP config.
    4. Change Windows display resolution to non-maximum value (eg. 1280x720).
    5. Start MP fullscreen.
    6. Exit (=> minimise to tray).
    7. Change Windows display resolution to maximum value (eg. UHD or FHD).
    8. Restore MP from tray.
    What happens:
    • Did MP automatically restore when display resolution was increased after step 8?
    • Is MP fullscreen, or stuck at 1280x720 size after step 9?
If the answers are no and no then maybe the change can be accepted. Otherwise we have a problem. :)
