    Hi,

perhaps this really could be implemented into the normal installer. So you have three links MP, Configure and Help. Is your application OpenSource?

    Again, very nice! :)

    New version 2005-11-18

I created a new version of the MediaPortal Support app:
    MediaPortal Support 18-11-2005

The old version (now being used by MP users):
    MediaPortal Support

Don't forget to save it to disk before you start it, else you'll get a nasty .NET exception

    Changes:
    - Removed the Location popup, integrated it into the Wizard
    - User can select if he wants to gather system info/mp info or none
    - Detection of Motherboard (WMI)
    - Detection of Videocard - model only (WMI)
    - Detection of Audiocard - model only (WMI)
    - Copy to clipboard link in the Report screen
    - Small layout changes

    Todo:
    - Detection of the TVcard (using CaptureCards.xml I guess)
    - Detection of the Videocard driver version (WMI)
    - Detection of the Audiocard driver version (WMI)
    - Maybe a progressbar or something for the gather process

Could some of you test it for me? I tested it on my own machine, but I would like to know what happens in the detection of the Motherboard/Videocard/Audiocard with your hardware.

Let me know what to fix/adjust/add etc.

Tested on my work machine (no TV card) and it did not detect the following:
    Video Card - Driver version
    Audio Card - Driver version

    Thanks for testing Mike

Sorry for the confusion but I only detect the VideoCard model and AudioCard model. I could fill in the driver version, but the driver version that WMI gave me wasn't the right one. I'll have to put some more work into that.

Does it detect your videocard with the right model name and memory size?
Does it detect your audiocard with the right model name?
Does it detect your motherboard with the right model name and manufacturer?

It is possible that WMI finds more than 1 audiocard and videocard, if so the dropdown will show all of them.

    Hi Zyphrax,

nice progression. Detection works well on my system. Everything was ok. :)

    Three things:
    - Step 3, Detection of .NET. I have both .NET1 and .NET2, i do not know if it is possible to detect this. Detection showed .NET1, if only one can be detected and filled in, it would be better to show up .NET2, since this is necessary for the upcomming release of MP.
    - Step 4, TAB navigation for the TV card. TV card type comes before TV card driver if i use TAB to jump into the different fields. ;)
    - Keep in mind that there might be mutlituner setups. Do not know, how this could be handled nice...

Keep up the great work! :)
