MediaPortal Support 2005-11-20

In a few hours of my free-time, I've created a program to make it easier to fill in the support templates. It detects some of the user's System/MediaPortal settings and generates a large part of the template.

Unfortunately you still have to go to the forum, create a topic and post it. But it guides you to the right subforum, and after that it's only a matter of copy and paste.

I created this program to encourage MP users to fill in their templates, and report the bugs they encounter.

Download the application here (remember this is NOT the newest version)
(be sure to save it to disk first, else you might get an .NET security exception)

I know - It just looked funny (strange sense of humor I guess) with the doctor image holding a thermometer.

    Thnx all.

I'll have a look at the MPTestTool.
Maybe it would be nice to combine the two tools.

    Maybe one day...

    Hi,

    Looks very nice, Zyphrax!

I'm not sure where the testtool I've written and your support tool meet each other, though. Your tool aids users in collecting the information for submitting support requests, while the testtool is written to aid testers testing prereleases and/or CVS snapshots.

Anyway I'd be glad to share the work I already have done (the source is available via the links infinityloop provided) and to collaborate in the future for writing these tools.

    Kind regards,
    Michel
