There's been a little typo in MP for quite a while and that is while watching TV, bring up the menu -> tuning details. "Free or air" true/false is supposed to be "free to air", right? I might be wrong here and if so I would gladly stand in the corner with shame. Didn't know where to post this and I thought that a own thread was a bit too mush. I think that this should be fixed in the final 1.1

    Hi,

with this SVN MP seems to hang machine on automatic standby (after 5 min.). It just shuts down MP and then I can see as usual the windows dialoge: "Windows is preparing for standby" but then nothing happens anymore. I even cant open the task manager or do anything else, it just seems for me as if my machine hangs. But when I standby MP using my remote, then it works without problems, so it seems to appear only when MP is idle!? This was no problem in last svn.

Logs attached, hope there is something cause I had to reset my machine on the hanging standby dialogue:

Anybody a clue if thios is a ne introduced bug?

    Regards

I furthermore realised that after recordings, MP hangs too with this SVN, I can see the windows dialoge "Windows is preparing for standby" after 5min. after the recording has ended and nothing more happens. Realised that after I recorded a show in the evening and next day I could see that my computer wasn't in standby and that it was stuck on this dialogue for about 7hours :( all night long. Never had that before! And I've changed nothing on my PC since last SVN!

Could someone have a look if there ist something in the previously attached logs?

    THX & Regards

Is it just me, or is the playback choppy when 24hz is applied? It seems like everything in mediaportal is slowed down when 24hz is applied, including the menus. Other material plays fine. And no problem when I set 24hz material to 50hz.

MP GUI is slow as it is rendered based on the FPS, not based on the time difference. This wont be ever fixed for MP1.

    I also have this problem...
And it is not as You describe it Tourettes.

It is simple that that when 24Hz is applied (on 23.976 material for example) that is when the refresh is changed from 50 or 60 Hz down to 24 Hz that playback (especially) and GUI get all choppy - as if playing 12 fps and not 24 fps.

I would post logs but there isn't any out of the ordinary in them. :(

For me it sometimes helps to close MP down and start it a few times or to start to play 50fps or 60fps material, stop it and then play 24fps right away.

I'll try to narrow it down (the exact cases when playback gets all choppy).

And just to mention it I tried CoreAVC, Cyberlink PDVD9 H.264, MPC and MS (Windows 7 64bit) codecs and have the same effect with all of them.

This might also be a driver problem, but I'm running the lastest nvidia driver for Win7x64. Anyone knows if MP works best with vertical sync on or off?

I hardly know ANY reason to switch that off.

MP will enable v-sync (as long as AERO is used an allowing widowed applications to use v-sync). So pretty pointless to try to disable it :)

Tried some older drivers, but they also have the same problem. Then I came over some posts in other forums that you have to set 23hz on nvidia to get 24hz. So I changed the setting in dynamic refresh rate to 23hz, and *poff* everything works as it should :) Weird... When I had it set to 24hz my TV showed 25hz, and now with 23hz set it shows 24hz. So obviously a strange nvidia problem.

I'm having this annoyance with TV guide and quick guide:
If a show title is very long, it will not be truncated, but instead displayed over multiple lines of guide.
Naturally, this causes the string to mess up entries below it.

Happens both in Blue3Wide and XFace skin so I guess it's a matter of text output function used in this case.

    Hi all,

This is a very minor "issue/bug" - although could just be me(?), but when using My Pictures, the preview picture/thumb of the picture you've selected does not always show - you just get an empty square on the left side of the screen (but the reflection under the preview does display). You can correctly select and display the main picture (by clicking/selecting it).

This doesn't happen for all pictures - and is intermittent. I can successfully (slowly, one click at a time) go through each picture and it will show the preview, but if I scroll through the list of pictures/photos quickly, then on some the preview is blank. Moving off the picture onto another, and then back again does not fix it. Only moving off that list of pictures and back again seems to redisplay the preview for that picture.

The extract of the log at the time is:
