The first problem is that with all DVB-T channels, it seems to default to the wrong audio channel (i.e. the Narration for visually impaired). manually changing the stream works fine, but it seems that every channel tunes to the wrong one and I can't change the default. The log attached for this one shows a channel being tuned, followed by manually selecting the right stream followed by the playback being stopped and MP exited. DVB-S seems to select the correct one without problem.
You are not on the converted transmitter (Winterhill) are you? In Brum no issues with these channels. Only channel I have this with is BBC HD on Freesat but got round that by prefering AC3 audio.

The second problem is that on some DVB-T channels (Could be DVB-S too, but only seen on DVB-T so far), I select to view from the guide, the card indicates that it is timeshifting, but there is not video or audio played (TV Guide remains on the screen like it has hung - and will only respond to two presses of STOP, which then reactivates the TV Guide and stops the timeshifting on the DVB-T card). This only happens with some channels, for example FIVER works, but DAVE doesn't. The log attached for this one shows a channel (DAVE) being selected for about 20 seconds or so, followed by me pressing stop twice and then exiting MP.

I have the same problem with DVB-C in Denmark (YouSee)

This happens for me on VistaX64 when using any Nvidia driver above 191.x. Works on W7X64 with any Nvidia driver though. Hope this is of help to you.

In MP Config, selecting Configuration for the Radio plugin causes an unhandled exception error. It says "The type initializer for 'Gentle.Framework.ProviderFactory' threw an exception." Clicking on continue opens the Radio plugin config window as normal.

    Thanks for the replies:

With that information it is not possible to make any automatic selection. Usually broadcasters are using some other language than the native one as stream language for those special streams
    - The difference is, that with the SVN from 30 Nov and with 1.0.2 before, it was correct every time, and this is only since installing this latest SVN. That is what is confusing me!

You are not on the converted transmitter (Winterhill) are you?
    - Hi Jameson, no, I am on Sandy Heath.

    - Thanks for the tip, but I have not updated my driver since running with the Nov 30th SVN when I did not have this problem - could it be a weak signal causing it???

Yeah - its the same for me.

I just reinstalled both the server and client PC with Windows 7 and MP works when installing the BETA, but after updating to the latest SVN the problem appears.

I'm having this annoyance with TV guide and quick guide:
If a show title is very long, it will not be truncated, but instead displayed over multiple lines of guide.
Naturally, this causes the string to mess up entries below it.

Happens both in Blue3Wide and XFace skin so I guess it's a matter of text output function used in this case.

    Sorry, wrong cause:
This happens only when the show title has newlines in the text. That is, when the show title itself is a multiline text.
If the title is "only" too long, it will be properly truncated.

Latest FireDTV DVB-C driver not working on XP SP3

    Hi,

The latest FireDTV DVB-C driver available from DE doesn't work with MP on XP SP3. I'm testing on this SVN. Logs comparing behavior with driver versions 4.8.0.0 and 5.0.6070.3000 are attached.

The firmware I'm using is 2.4.3 Build 60740 (latest). Both tests were done with a freshly initialized database. Then I did a channel scan and tried tuning channels TV1 -> Liv -> TV7 -> The Voice/TV Viisi with the TV-Server Configuration tool.

Symptoms with the newest driver include:

    • Scanning shows updated channels even though the database is empty.
    • Channels missing from scan.
    • Tuning fails frequently.

For some reason the log shows signal strength differently (SIGNAL LEVEL: 49, SIGNAL QUALITY: 49) from FireDTV Support tool, which reports it as "Frequency.: 274000 kHz, Sig.Str.: 100%, BER: 0" Unsurprisingly, DVBViewer works fine with both drivers.

After watching a movie and whilst the credits were playing, I went to the TV Guide and tried to tune into a channel, upon which MP froze. After about 3 minutes, I checked my desktop on my monitor (MP runs on my TV) and I noticed that an extra MP item had appeared in my taskbar and when I pressed enter with that selected, MP closed.
