I'm happy to report that I'm able to watch PAL Freeview fine on my NTSC TV now with the second dshowhelper patch that was posted (I didn't try the first one, so that probably would have worked just as well).

I've got a separate problem after watching an avi, in that the GUI is all zoomed in and thus unusable. I have to restart MP to fix it. I never saw this with the last SVN and I haven't changed my GPU drivers.

Since latest SVN I have also had many times MP crashing with Windows message "MediaPortal stopped working". This happens with TV.

AMD Phenom, onboard Radeon 3300, MPC codecs, Windows 7 X64.

I think this is not a driver/system/HW issue, since similar error has never appeared before, and the problem started immediately after the latest SVN. Only possible cause other than the latest SVN can be January 2010 ATI Catalyst.

When the problem next time appears, I will gather the log files, if anyone hasn't done it yet.

Otherwise this is the best release ever and ready for world wide distribution \O/

    Hetfield:
if u have this crash the next time, please open the detail tab and make a screenshot of that. Perhaps it is the same problem, as mine....

    EDIT:
    tourettes:
Don't know how to make/compile older files compatible with new releases. So could you please provide a TsWriter.ax from an earlier release e.g. from 1.0.2 because I definitely know, that there it worked.

HTPC2 with no frame drops has graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 7050 PV / NVIDIA nForce 630a
HTPC with massive frame drops has grahics card ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

    /Erik

@tourettes: I have also a ATI Radeon HD3200 gfx-card and have the same issue: many dropped frames. No plugin is activated. With SVN before I haven't got this problem. And there were plugins activated. :(

Yes, me too. Mediaportal doesn't report any errors in the logs, though. The crashes just happens randomly.

I believe tourettes has this fixed for the next public SVN (see here).

@tourettes: I found the Mantis entries for the 'Description', 'Steps to Reproduce' and 'Additional Information' sections quite funny... ;)

@tourettes: I think you´re absolute right with GPU! I just borrowed a NVidia GT 240 with 1 GB GDDR3 and installed it in my machine. And here is the onscreen graph ;)
Isn´t it amazing? 0 dropped frames and 0 snc glitches! And I have activated nearly all plugins available, especially HTPCInfo (testversion 0.9.1 as described earlier, InfoService, MovingPictures, TVSeries and and and...)
So I think you´ve done all right. For me MP now works like a charm.
Unfortunately I have to give this GFX card back and go back to my NVidia 6700 XL, which is more a crap than a GFX card...

I think you will get the same result with a radeon 4350 that you can have for 30 euros.

And some extra flickering in MP - Vista / Windows 7. :)

No flickering here on Windows 7 with the 4350 I borrowed. On the other hand it wasn't any better in deinterlacing 1080i than my 3200 (which I knew) but I just had to try ;)
