    Problem with PowerScheduler?

    Hi all,

With this SVN my HTPC won't standby/hibernate any more. I came from Rev18951 which worked fine, and also when I reverted back to this SVN standby went fine again.

I've attached an extract of (a very long) logfile. It states that:

    2008-05-20 06:06:49.734375 [23]: PowerScheduler.DisAllowShutdown: not allowed time
    2008-05-20 06:07:14.703125 [21]: PowerScheduler: lastUserTime: 05:10:28.0468 , True

but the "timeout" I've set for standby is only 5 mins so it should be well past the threshold. No other processes interfere as far as I can see.

Anyone else seeing the same issue? I'm using XP with SP2, see my system spec.

    /Peter

    Petsa,

There is a new entry in the PowerScheduler tab in the TVServer configuration that by default only lets the PowerScheduler to standby between 00:00 and 05:00. If you change this to 00:00 to 24:00 then it will let you standby as it did in the past.

I struggled with the same problem until i ran into this new setting. My feeling is that it should default to 00:00 to 24:00 and not what it is now as 99% of the users are not aware of this setting. I think it is a very good setting though, but it causes some confusion.

    Cheers,
    Jens

    Hi,

I have a gui issue that went away but has returned.

It is the lines on the guide thing, starting with the word 'All' from All channels.

Please see attached where I have ringed the missing letters.

I know changing antialias settings have helped in the past, but doesn't seem to change this for me.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

I can confirm i have the same issue.
I never have seen a version without it.

I keep getting unresponsive tv service following any interuption in live tv, eg.
    watch a dvd etc.

When it is unresponive, usb devices are also affected.

For general info. Following upgrade from PDVD 7 to PDVD 8 Ultra, CPU usage has decreased from, approx 50% to approx 10% for HD channels. Main concept stil @ approx 50%

    Turn off anisotropic filtering,
    Try other drivers,
    Try a better gpu

I can't reliably change channels with this SVN - keep getting "unable to start timeshifting - unable to start graph" errors. Weird thing is - it isn't consistent. The logs attached are of me starting MP, displaying BBC One (OK), attempting to change channel to BBC TWO (failed), then selected BBC TWO again from My TV (OK)

Never had these type of errors before up to and including RC1. Last two SVNs do not seem as good for me: another problem I have is that sometimes changing channel causes the picture to lock onto two repeating frames from the last channel viewed while the audio continues on the channel I switched too.

Same issue here. Channel changes are unreliable and I get this error message every now and then. Also TVServer freezes up after a few channel changes.

    Hi

I´ve a similar (or equal) issue with my Cinergy 2400i
I paste this link for you compare

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...al-drop-outs-terratec-2400i-33897/#post265360

This issue only occurs me with TVE3.
    Regards

Thanks for your reply - it looks a bit similar but I've only had this problem since the last two SVNs. RC1 and all other previous SVNs worked OK for me. I may go back to using RC1 as-is because the system is unusable at the moment.

I have another problem with this SVN as well: recorded TV programs don't start properly. I get the first frame and then it freezes. I have to skip 15 seconds forward and then they play fine. I think it's something to do with TsWriter.ax

I have an issue where TV recordings don't even play (very choppy). I believe this is due to the fact that .ts file/recording playback is using MyVideos decoder settings instead of MyTV decoder settings, and I have ffdshow post-processing enabled for MyVideos.

There's a fix for the issue by iosub here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...fix-18882-fixed-mantis-issue-0001228-a-39372/

    Hello Dornjoostie,

I have found that it has come and gone.

Both of us are on on NVIDEA 256s but different GPUs.

I wonder how many are affected by this.

    RTV,

    Thanks for your reply.

Disabling anisotropic filtering had no effect.

Drivers are the latest availible (had to rebuild after a HDD crash a week ago).

Is my GPU that bad? It isn't that old, and seems to handle most things. Then again I don't exactly test it to it's limits.

I have a 128MB ancient ATI job on my bedroom client which does not do this, ever.

Can't buy a new one at the moment. Oh well, it is only the EPG :(

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    For me it helped:
MediaPortal Configuration -> Direct Filter Control -> Video Render Settings -> Filtering mode -> None

    Hi Dornjoostie,

Just tried that (I changed it before in the NVIDIA settings) but still have this problem.

It did render correctly once after the change, but then went back to the same problem. It seems perhaps slightly better, then much worse. I still have "nels" instead of "All Channels" as well.

I haven't tried playing with resolution yet. As I remember, this may have had an impact on this issue.

...No, playing with the resolution had no effect.

Just noticed, bringing up the menu over the guide then cancelling gets rid of the problem while the guide is up. "Channels" is still "nels" though. This now stays without the flicker when going to TV fullscreen and back to the guide. Is this really not a bug?

    Thanks,
    Chris

On other bug: number entry on the MCE remote stops working in the TV guide after a screen (UI) calibration adjustment.
