If you're using MySQL instead of SQL Server, copy your gentle.config from a media portal installation to the installation directory of the tv player and it should work (not tested though).

I can report that it works with MySQL using above mentioned method

Edit: After connecting to server I can select one channel and it displays OK, but after that I can't change channels. It shows EPG data bu there is no stream.

That's probably when they are on the same mux. I havn't found a solution for this yet. Any ideas are appreciated

I'm using analog PVR-150 as my TV card, just for information.

ehm I have a little problem. I installed the player. I entered the IP of my HTPC where the tv-server is running and also entered the path of vlc. after pressing ok nothing happens. if I open the player again it's saying that I started the player for the first time blabla...did this several times, but always the same. what am i doing wrong?

I suspect you may be on Vista.. I found I had to launch the program as an Adminstrator so it could write it's config.. Another wonderful UAC thing.

thanks for the info. now I was able to make the configuration.
Then I started the Player (as Admin again) and wanted to start streaming a channel. After a few seconds the Program crashes.
Are there any logs I can refer to?

Problems I have are that the deinterlacing options don't seem to work at all, and changing channel doesn't work it just stops and i have to select a channel again for it to work.
Just an update, I just installed the latest VLC 0.9.9 and now when I start a channel it starts and then crashes, it has this message;

Is it possible to release a version without installation needs?
Only copy files in a folder?

Uhm it seems to be problems with the latest release of vlc, I will try to find information about this. Problem is that I didn't create the VLC component, need to to some Google'ing when I have some spare time.

All source code is available at codeplex if anyone else want's to look in to it.
