THNX A LOT -ltb- !!! Rely I searched the whole site to find that tool or some information about it! I thing that it should be mentioned somewhere for people with no experience like me...
I downloaded MediaPortal_0.2.2.zip and after (what I thought was) a successful installation, I could not find the file MediaPortalTestTool2.exe in any directory or sub-directory associated with MP 0.2.2 or anywhere on my HDD.
Next, I fully removed MP 0.2.2, restored my PC to its previous Restore Point, downloaded MediaPortal_0.2.3_RC2.zip and, once again, after (what I thought was) a successful installation, I could not find the file MediaPortalTestTool2.exe in any directory or sub-directory associated with MP 0.2.3 RC2 or anywhere on my HDD.
Running MP 2.3 RC2 with ATI TV Wonder 650, ATI X1300 PRO with 256MB, on a Windows XP SP2 system with all MS updates, including .NET Framework 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0, 1GB RAM and an Intel Dual Core 2.8GHz processor, thus far, only running My TV, I find MP 0.2.3 RC2 a fabulous program. However, as a minor (very minor) PC performance geek, I am always interested in testing software and I would love to give MediaPortalTestTool2 a try.

100% my bad - as expected :)
So, I had disabled the Windows Update service. Not a wise move, until MP all installed and working nicely. The reason it failed is because DotNetFrameworkChecker.cs looks in Registry HKLM SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\NET Framework Setup\\NDP for v4/v4.0 AND v3.5. W10 has V4.0 but not 3.5. MP installer...
