OSD is IMDB stuff (while playing the movie) the IMDB info is there, just not when playing (It think becouse its mounted by Deamon tools)

I agree the GF is a really big factor... :)

I just notice that if I rip myself (with DVD decrypter) to Video_TS folers.
I get al the info and the files start to play faster.
I really love this plugin but it wuld be perfect if I could rip to <Movie name>/<Video_TS>/.VOB files and have them automaticly added to the DB....

Anybody know how to do this?

Is it me or is the MPEG4 method really really slow?
Took more then 3 hours to rip Gladiator... (or is that normal for a 3hour movie?)

Ok I have found a few of MINOR issues that can hopefully be addressed quickly.

First. I have a CD that blows up MP when I try to rip it. I think it is becasue it has a ":" in the cd title. this would mean that the location of the CD would be "C:\music\Various\Hip Hop Greats: Classics" (or something like that I don't remember the exact title off of the top of my head). Notice the 2 colons in the naming structure, though. Windows does not like that. is it possible to convert that to a "-"

Second. I have had a couple of DVD rips come down and actually put Quote Marks around the Title of the movie. so they are listed as "Blah, Blah, Blah" instead of just Blah, Blah Blah. It puts them at the VERY top of the sorting order because of the quote marks, even though they start with an H. Just something that is a little annoying. Is it possible that anything that comes down from the IMDB querry to just strip out the quote marks?

Third. Is it possible to name the .ISO file the actual name of the movie instead of what was pulled from the DVD for the IMDB query? again, nothing major, but it would look nicer to do it that way so when you watch a movie from a .iso, it pops up that window saying something like "Launching The Matrix..." instead of "Launching Matrix_16x9_ws". I don't remember the exact wording, but you get the point.

This is an Awesome plugin and I think it has great funtionality. I also think it is pretty cool that major issues don't seem to be happening, and we are down to nit-picky stuff.

thanks again. :D

Is there a chance of adding an mpeg4/avi joiner to MediaSlayer, So those multi file movies can be made into 1 file?

I found the command line at "howto.gumph.org" - Join Movie Clips together

    mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -o "joined.avi" "1.avi" "2.avi"

for avi's larger than 1GB (but smaller than 2GB):

mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -noodml -o "joined.avi" "1.avi" "2.avi"

    thanks!

    This works great! (V3.5.4.0)
    One question I have:
When a movies is 2 DVD's and ripped in ISO mode, this plugin wants to override the IMDB file.
Is there any way to get The Godfather DVD1.ISO and The Godfather DVD2.ISO with this plugin?
So that Media Portal sees the two rips as one movie...

I have no idea how to accomplish that. Stacking for image files is not supported from core side.

I am doing something wrong? I notice that ripped DVD's (Full Disk Mode) do not have any OSD info when i press 'i' during playback...
In the Movie selectionscreen it has the IMDB info.
When Deamon is loading the .ISO I lose the info, how do I stopt this?

My other DVD rips (not via this plugin) do have OSD info but I ripped them to .VOB in a Video.TS folder....
This seems to work better, is there any way to rip to .VOB's with this plugin?

Info for image files is not supported by core but stay tuned as I was able to correct that at some level. Also resume and watched status is now available for .iso.

Something I would like to change (but cannot see a way to do unless you are willing to release the source and I recompile the DLL) and not just for this plugin is the Plugin Name that is displayed.

For example, us geeks know MediaSlayer is what we use to rip Disks, I can explain to my GF (which changes sometimes) which menu to use.

And if we could a small button for "Advanced GUI" on the simple page for those of us who know what they are doing to get at the good stuff perfection would be achieved, as far as I am concerened. Right now what you have made is only "ridiculously good"!

Have to see if there is nothing else to do (rainy day). Not the first priority issue at the moment.

I can add that VIDEO_TS folder support but don't blame me if it is not working for all DVDs as it will also need VIDEO_TS.IFO and it can point to nonexisting file (this depends DVD structure). Not sure about this main movie thing and it is anyway pain in the a.. so maybe will remove the hole thing.

MPEG4 will take time. I have Core2 6550 and convert time is approx 2x movie length. But quality is good and disk space saved and it can be done background, so I'm using it.

#1 is a bug. Track names were changed to safe names but artist and album name not. Corrected in next release.

#2 can't change that (or I don't know how) as it will be saved to database directly without any handling in plugin side.

#3 what do you mean. Every time plugin will ask what name do you want to use - change via virtual kb. This was one of the first reqs from you... remember?

Hmm... sounds like a video editor feature. Let's see if some day get inspired.

There is now dlls for IMDB info when watching movie. Maybe some dev can check if worth to add into SVN.

On number 3, yes, I did make that request. But I was just thinking it would be nice to have it pull the actual name of the movie and not the filename it is saved as. Sometimes the name that comes up is close enough to pull the IMDB stuff correctly so no change in the virtual KB is needed, but then when launching the movie, it uses that file name instead of the actual name of the movie. It sounded like a pretty simple change (just using a different variable in that field, or pulling slightly different information from the DB) but I could be (and probably am) wrong on that.

Thanks for the fix on #1.

Number 2 is kind of a bummer, but I can live with it.

I hope you do take a look a number 3.

Put info or debug flag on from MP Configuration and post mediaportal.log and error.log as attachments (do not paste text here). What version you are using as this plugin reads mencoder std output and different versions can have different output?

Hi. Here are my log files. Thank you for your help. I am using Mencoder 1.0rc2 from the MPlayer package: MPlayer-1.0rc2.

    Full disk rips works perfectly!:D
