fantastic i used xbmx for a few days last week and although it has a wealth of other options didn't really seem to sit well with my htpc but was really impressed with the mediastream skin , looking forward to trying this out, just got rc4 and moving pictures just about to do a test run on my laptop b4 sorting out the htpc once the wife goes to bed thanks again

I agree I'd like to see a subthread that confines peoples mod of a subsection into a single thread. (say one thread for anything to do with mytvseries for MediaStream)

As for RC4 - I had installed it on another machine and had a bug that only loaded up a shaded greybox on the upper left when first loading with MediaStream. The install from RC2 wasn't clean on this machine though, but I am not willing to try on my main system with release 1.0 a month away...

Note: To those of you who asked, I've added my work in progress tvseries which is a combo of the different mediastream skins. Gives me a maximum view of my different tv shows, as well as a 3d type image for the series which I like. You'll notice that there are still some things that need to be cleaned up. Feel free to post any changes.

Wow, this is a totally awesome skin! IMHO, it's the current king of the MP skins. Please keep up the good work and another vote for a dedicated sub-forum in "Hot Skins".

As for RC4 - I had installed it on another machine and had a bug that only loaded up a shaded greybox on the upper left when first loading with MediaStream. The install from RC2 wasn't clean on this machine though, but I am not willing to try on my main system with release 1.0 a month away...

All of the sudden, I'm getting the same problem with RC4. It worked fine the first few times I started it but now it just quit for some reason. It just loads a blank screen. If I click with the mouse it comes back, but pressing buttons on my remote doesn't do anything. So it's pretty much unusable for me at the moment. I've tried clearing the cache and I'm using the stock myHome.xml.

My RC4 install was done as a clean install.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\Fan Art

Ahhh!!! Got it... I dropped the jpg file in the Fan Art folder an viola!

Ehm Raytestrak (I constantly childishly smile when I read that name ), xml is easy, seriously.
Especially for people that have some knowledge of html, which is basically one and the same.

It's all about hierarchy and easy enough to learn. It's being willing to learn is what it's actually all about...
Such as open up a file... see tags like posx (hmm that might be some coordinate?) and just play with that, see what happens.
There's a great skin refresh plugin out there (MyRefresh or something?) which makes things easier to test.

I'm in ICT and have and have a degree in it as well, but I just can't program. Couldn't do a "Hello World" to save my life. My brain just doesn't do logic. I've never been able to do vbscript, or html, or java, or c++ or ... you get my drift.

The id of every plugin is listed at the top of the xml that belongs to that particular plugin...

I have the exact same issue. If I revert back to the previous mediastream.dll, the main menu works again, but when I go back to the main menu from any plugin, the focus is lost.

I can confirm this.

I have some more bad news. RC4 broke a couple of my plugins. A part of those are OutlookMail and MyExplorer which I was skinning. I did already have a new version but now I can't show you any screens of it cause I can't run them. I can tell you that I put in title/time and outlookmail uses a bigger font.

If people are interested in some of my images/icons (created new hovers (speedfan, lyrics(which broke down too) and My Server) I could upload a pack again.

ReInstalled MyExplorer and it's working again so attached another screenie

Did the same with outlookmail and also works again... Hmm maybe I should do a real proper clean install some time...

created a mod of tvseries with a gradient overlay which I was thinking about. Sorry Pilehave kinda taking over your topic here

Was also trying out my horizontal idea. It's not gonna work, although it would look really cool I think.
Navigation is an issue. The list always has a vertical oriented navigation. I need horizontal, don't hink there's any way to change that...

Not really sure what you are trying to do, but if you are trying to get focus on the menu item "Moving pictures", you have the wrong ID. The ID to get focus on that particular menu item you can grab from myhome.xml, search for "moving pictures"(Or whatever you called it when you configured your menu) and check what the <ID> is there. I think it should be something like 900xx, where xx is any number from 01 to 14..

Haven't really looked a lot on the code, just merged it with stuff from streamedMP to get the ultimate home menu =)

Thanx ... I'll give it a try. Have you been able to confirm the RC4 thing I (and some others) mentioned by any chance?

Edit: Hooray it worked!! Now movies is my startup selected plugin!
