Grassynoal, still the same problem I'm afraid.

I have reinstalled the font from the latest ZIP, yet still have no menu options. I'm not sure its a font problem though, as I don't even get the MEPO character appearing on the left.

I'm running the very latest SVN.

Read my post above; skins dont work with SVNs

Glenn - Really like MePo green, and the WAF factor is back in the black...

One thing - MePo RadioGuy on the basichome screen is transmitting :)

I thought about that :) I was half way through and thought.. what the hell. I guess i can reverse the animation or perhaps MePo does transmit...

    Hey Glenn,

yesterday I tried your skin the first time "in action" :) I love it, those MePo guys are too cute! I always (despite of Harleys x-mas-skins) used the default skin, but maybe this will change now ;)

The new font is much more useable for me as it correctly displays special chars (like german umlauts). It might be a little thin on CRT TVs, but as LCD user I don't care :p ;)

One little question: why are the animations of the MePos only used on basic home? Will this use too much ressources when used in the "normal" menu? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't know much about MP skinning ;)

    Thanks again for your work!

I have only used blue two as a base which does not have animation on the non-basic page. mePo (apart from a few screen position tweaks) is only a mod and not a skin outright. I can find out if the homepage can support animation, but imagine how many frames of animation (and how many PNG files there will be for all those icon variants (not to mention MePo black and MePo Grey as well) The basic home page icons have 12 frames of animation each. X 5 icons is 60 frames, By 3 skin colours id 180 frames. i have to re name them nostly by hand and de-fringe them in photoshop as well as colour clamp them so the white doesn't turn transparent (not sure why this is :)). mePo grey and black are not just colour corrections in photoshop, they have different pallets including varying colours of falloff in thier fresnell falloffs. The maths on all the fames for all the icons would suggest I would be crazy to try. I could take the frame rate down and halve the number of images but steppy animation would kill me.

    I need to sleep :)

basicly you can use animations for all kind of textures, so everywhere where you can set a <*texture*> or image you can put an animation in as well. all you need to do is to create a seperate animation xml file (f.e. myanimation1.xml) and put your animation sequences in there (like for the basichomescreen)...

and now if you want to animate f.e. a button just put the filename of your animation xml in, instead of the png file, like

    <textureNoFocus>animations/myanimation1.xml</textureNoFocus>

where myanimation1.xml is located in ...\yourskin\animations (you could also locate it in the root folder of your skin!)

    hope that helps!

    Hi Glenn,

if you will make animated hovers in the normal homescreen, we have now also the posssibility for this.

For using animations for the hovers, you must also make a animation.xml. Important is that the animation.xml has the same name as the normal hover.png. For example:
If you will do a animation for mymusic.
You must do a animaton.xml with the name hover_my music.xml instead of the hover_my music.png.
You must store then the new animation.xml in the Mediafolder, thats important, because mp search with the new homegui in the mediafolder to a file with the hovername and use then what is found. In this example for the mymusichover it will use the hover_my music.xml.
The original hover_my music.png must be deleted in the mediafolder for this.

You can use with new engine xml, png, bmp and gif.

    Greetings Harley :)

BTW: Why do you not come in to the designteam, we will be afraid to have you in here.;) :)

Hmm.. animate 38 icons (roughly) @ 12 frames a piece (456 frames) by 3 colour skins = 1368 frames. Too many for me or a sleek UI methinks. A 2 frame thing maybe but I don't even have time for that :)
