I am sorry, what do you confirm? Do you also see the error message pop up related to hwinterfacex64.sys? Did you check you Windows event viewer for the events related to hwinterfacex64.sys when you enable the plugin and restart your computer?

There are two Matrix Orbital drivers, but one is for alphanumeric and another is for graphic. Mine is graphic (GX). But like I said, the error message has been reported to take place with Imon VFD display as well so I don't think this is related to a particular minidisplay device driver.

Attached are my minidisplay config files.

Also attached is my hwinterfacex64.sys zipped. It took if from c:\Windows\System32\drivers\ folder. Is it same as yours? Is it digitally signed?

Driver link in post 10, is signed, have you installed it ?
Use installer in Zip/Win32 folder.verify Drivers folder / if hwinterfacex64.sys is size >10 ko
(do not restart configuration.exe) restart your PC for test.

I downloaded InpOutBinaries_1500.zip file, but there is no inpoutx64.sys in the archive. Installation program doesn't report any error message, but inpoutx64.sys doesn't appear in C:\Windows\System32\drivers, there is nothing to rename...:(

Can you verify if this file "hwinterface.sys" is already here " C:\Windows\System32\drivers"
UAC is enabled ? \ What is the version of hwinterfacex64.sys ? \ (For me it's 1.1 installed by Minidisplay )
I think you can install Driver from http://www.highrez.co.uk/scripts/download.asp?package=InpOutBinaries
    Go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers" & rename "inpoutx64.sys" as "hwinterfacex64.sys"

when you use, installDriver.exe in Win32 folder, he install Inpoutx64.sys directly ! i think you have problem on your windows folder ! verify the rights security on Windows / System32 / Drivers folder,
UAC is disabled ? you can write in this folders, create new file .txt ?

it looks like MP tries to open/prepare connections for all possible minidisplay types it supports. HWInterface is used for displays connected via parallel port, so it doesn't have to be started for IMON.
You can fill bugreport for this.

Fill a bugreport - this is exactly what I am trying to do! ;) I understand I might not need hwinterface but in the meantime this driver in proper shape might be necessary for other displays and the file officially supplied by mediaportal installation program is not signed digitally and therefore cannot be used universally. So I would like to get to the bottom of this problem.

    Now, back to azzuro questions:
UAC is disabled. I can modify the contents of Windows/System32/Drivers folder, I can create, modify and delete files. Like I said: inpoutx64.sys does not exist in InpOutBinaries_1500.zip file. Could you upload it separately?

sorry, inpoutx64.sys = inpoutx64.dll ( the only file signed is version 1.200 for vista ) but MP overwrite this file when start config.exe
