I am curious what the recommended cpu is for running MPExtended. No matter what I use to stream, it maxes out the cpu on my server. I have the same results whether I use Ampdroid or the WebMediaPortal. After a few minutes of watching, the remote video starts skipping and eventually stops.

My cpu is a Intel Q9400 quad core 2.66. Is this just way under powered or do I have something else wrong. I can foresee having 2 to 3 streams going at once, but the way it is now, I can't even handle one.

my tv server (which holds all my tv shows etc) - has a phenom II 3-core 2.8ghz and it tells me 99% cpu usage when im streaming.. its works great
just dont do like.. anything else internet related or your stream breaks and the same stream will play from the beginning and stop at the same point it first broke...

The problem with the flash player is that it requests the full video (not just a limited "buffer"). So as long as the video hasn't been fully transcoded it will use the full processor power. You can limit it by e.g. only allowing one core for transcoding.

MPextended is very CPU consuming.........Almost useless on all current profiles in MPExtended

Hopefully more transcoding profiles (planned release in 0.5) can help fix the issue.

Futhermore Videoquality/Bandwidth/CPU requirements should be optimized somehow(If possible..........But Ipimp does not seem to suffer from above issue).

For you. I use it daily without problems. That it uses 100% CPU isn't a problem in itself.

True, however if a stream breaks.. it really brakes! not sure if its cpu related or internet related.. but its very annoying and it cannot be "started" again

I have the same problem. I can see that ffmpeg uses 100% cpu and the stream then stops.
To force ffmpeg to use one thread use the parameter -threads 1, but it didn't helped me. Please correct this. I have subsonic installed on my server which also uses ffmpeg with no ploblems...
