Monochrome Version 07. ALPHA

Hi all, sorry I haven't posted lately - been VERY busy at work .

Anyway.... I've managed to "completely" rework Monochrome. Just uploaded it to the repository .

It is now based on the 0.2.3.0 B2 Wide (1366x768) xmls. It should also be overscan friendly. This should hopefully keep everyone happy .
I've also removed almost all of the animation effects, the skin now seems a lot more responsive.

Please note: I have not done many, if any, TV screens. I don't use this function in MP anymore. I think I'll need some help here. Somebody offered earlier but I' too tired to read through the thread again. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Copy the Monochrome folder to you MediaPortal\skin folder.
Copy the two plugins to your MediaPortal\plugins\Windows folder.

Don't forget to delete the cache folder if you have used Monochrome before ;-)

Well anyways! Ill look into it when I get back later today. Did you do anything with menu's or do they remain the same? Im thinking about the video/music/misc menus..

edit: couldn't wait so i tried it now.

Looks slightly smoother now that i doesn't have to be resized, great! And awesome that you reworked the side-menu in my music and my videos, its a lot more tidy now =)

I'm happy to inform, that the TV progress bar does not longer appear in full screen tv.
Now it's the only skin I use.

Too bad it's not 1280x720 anymore.. Guess I'll just stick with the old version then, haven't had any problems yet.

btw I've added the TVSeries logos I'm using in my post on page 29, there's a in action shot with them. Pretty badly scaled by MP but it looks okay.

Many thanks Psycho!! i think that now it will work fine in my screen because i'm using 1366x768 and for users like spuck that are using 1280x720 it should work fine also because MP works better downsizing that upsizing...

Also, there is changes in basic home screen? i'm asking because i've modded the menus to my taste and i want to keep them...

Any chance of this ever going to 1080p?

If, as mentioned above, MP works better downsizing than upsizing, then it may make everyone happy (1080p monitors are almost standard fare at stores right now.)

I use it on a 1080p screen, and didn't see any problems.

i dunno if this has been suggested before... but could you make more of a contrast between the filled in blocks and empty blocks of the OSD volume bar? it's hard to tell what volume level i'm at sometimes. all the blocks look filled in with white. hard to see the difference...

No not as far as i could tell.

He changed the menus you also posted a change too. He slimmed them down a bit.
Other then that it just looks better in general, more smooth with my res. I dont use the TV part and didnt have any problems with the earlier version, so I havent noticed anymore changes then that till now.

Thanks for the great skin. I found a couple of problems in TV. In My Recordings, the text overflows the background graphic. When playing fullscreen TV, the progress bar seems to not be loading the correct graphic. The progress bar works with recordings and videos, but not TV. This has become my default skin now, thanks for the hard work. If you need any help debugging TV screens, I'll gladly help.

I'm using 0.2.3.0 release version and the new .7 release of Monochrome.
