You cannot expect that a BETA and free program like MP will work out of the box for all...
But as you can see for most of us this works great and its the best skin ever....

I agree it's the best skin as I've written elsewhere and why I use it. We were discussing MyTvSeries not working with the skin which is not the skins fault.

I would have thought that the number of peope on the forum who have it working (myself included) would prove testiment to the fact the myTVSeies DOES work perfectly with this skin.

I would suggest using the SVN version of the myTVSeries plugin (version 2.0 here: myTVSeries) and the latest version of this skin (version 1.7) Indigo 1.7 or Monochrome 1.7

Once installed into the various locations, delete the cache files from MP and restart it.

Hopefuly this'll work

Downloaded the latest SVN of the MP-TVSeries dll, checked the thumbs folder for Banners / Season & Episode Images, deleted the cache and tried with Indigo and Monochrome - still no luck.

In case you're interested I gave up! Though I've coded for decades (+ did some bits for myfilms) I spent about 12 hours messing with it, which is more than enough to achieve results but couldn't. There's no skin shipped with the plug + its not in the regular mp/plugs area, the monochrome skin likewise doesn't seem to be in svn (unless like tvseries its got its own NON-mp area) so no point continuing.

MP should insist that all plugs/skins are in svn, in the right place and stuff kept up to date, else it just waste's peoples time banging their head against the wall. No way would I have bothered had I realised that luck was involved. That said I didn't plan to use it as MyFilms is already set up to handle tv + films/music/docs etc, just wanted to see how well it worked out of curiosity, which IMHO was not very well. Can't see too many peeps persevering if they get probs as it is very complex, shame...

Any reason you continue to bash mp-tvseries? It doesn't work for you for some reason and you don't like it, we get it. Do you want to "convert" people to myFilms? Are you the author of that plugin?

Go write youre Antz scripts and leave the rest of use alone...banging our heads against the wall because mp-tvseries is oh so god aweful and MP should insist it be removed to prevent people wasting time.

I was expecting MP-TVSeries to work with this skin as there are 3 choices for XML specific to this plugin and its included in the Installation notes - is that not a fair expectation? If I were trying to get this to work with a plugin thats not supposed to be supported I would agree.

There's plenty of people for whom it works great. As with any open-source and 'still under development' software, it is hard to guarantee everything will work exactly the same on every possible combination of hardware and software. I've had my fair share of trouble with MP and with TVseries myself. Very often the result of a mistake on my part...

From personal experience, the upgrade to version 2 did not go without a glitch either. The way I got it to work, including episode thumbnails and season banners was to download the version 2 release (instead of copying over only SVN version like I did at first).

In MP-TV Series Configuration, go into Import Settings > Online Data Sync and select "Download Episode information for the whole series" (solved a small problem with ONE episode banner not appearing one time. It also helps you find out which episodes or specials you are missing). In the same spot also mark "Download Episode Thumbnails". If you want to, also mark "Watch my import folders".

Then do a full import, possibly after deleting all the current episodes from the Details view if you have any.

First time to post on this thread! I like the Monochrome skin because it is well laid out, simple, and no over-the-top sounds. I've been meaning to post a few things I'd noticed. I'm using 1.7 and have seen:

My-TV, TV-Guide, the slider below the listings is absent eventhough you requested it in the configuration. It was there in earlier versions, or so I recall.

When playing a recorded TV show and RIGHT/Previous screen, you're back to the shows menu. The video continues to play, you hear the sound, yet the video preview pane is blank instead of displaying the video. If you RIGHT again it will appear while the dialog box is present.

BTW just cos you don't like people posting negative criticism about your 'perfect' plugin there's no need to get nasty and personal. This is about the third post to me like this you've made. In future please PM me with that kind of irrelevance if you want a row instead of littering the forums with it OK! When did I claim it was "perfect"? When did I claim it was "mine" (alot of people helped, especially zeflash who deserves most of the credit for his great work in fact)? Nowhere did I get personal and nasty with you.

And no, you didn't just respond to someones question, you first established your superiorism, putting you above eveyone else, then flat out LIED ("not in mp-plugin section? WTF is this then? - Are you saying its got its own SVN trunk? WTH do you care how development is done? This is just jibberish...)

Then you even went so far as to dictate, not just how the plugin should be handled, but how MP as a whole should handle all of its plugins. But I guess thats ok since you already established your superiorism....

And let's get one thing clear, it's also not what you say that bothers me, but HOW you choose to do so.

You're right about one thing though, this is OT and not worth either of our time....

Why are you always so negative? Oh and I don't see how TV-Series can be that hard to get to work, I've friends with virtually no computer experience manage to set it up and maintain it themselves after 2 mins of show-how.
